By drawing from influences like Dinosaur Jr., My Bloody Valentine, and Low the band deftly fuses catchy hooks with gritty timbres and lush noise.
The band deftly fuses catchy hooks in the guitar, bass, and vocals with gritty timbres and lush noise. George Lenker of The Republican (MassLive.com) said, “The True Jacqueline is maybe my favorite band to come along in years. A combination of twee pop and angular indie rock, employing quirky but accessible chord changes, and embedded in a foundation of solid, if not flashy, musicianship makes the band hard to beat to my ears.”
The True Jacqueline have shared the stage with notable bands such as The War On Drugs, Bishop Allen, and Hilly Eye to name a few. In 2010 the band released its debut full-length album Nice Bird and undertook a successful tour of the midwestern United States with Orca Age (Brooklyn, NY). In 2011 the group toured the south-eastern states with Friends of Yours (Northampton, MA) in support of their most recent endeavor, the Things Under Water EP, which was recorded with Justin Pizzoferrato (Dinosaur Jr., Sonic Youth, Chelsea Light Moving).

@John Michael I get your point, we need to be able to freely hurt people's feelings, per the constitution.

Love the fact that in a crowd that's probably 98% black there's the one middle-aged white lady laughing her ass off! 😂
Demi Cello

Kate Clark

I once was that one white lady in the audience, but for Richard Pryor LOL. He called me out too. Told me I better be careful and made some jokes along that line. Good times, in the 70's ..
