1)THE TWINS STORY
In 1980, Sven Dohrow and Ronny Schreinzer decided to put a new band together, after they had played in various bands as a guitar-player and a drummer.
In the beginning they were inspired by bands like Tubeway Army, Gary Numan, OMD and Depeche Mode.
The name "TWINS" might sound a bit funny for english speaking fans because Sven and Ronny are definitely no twins (you guessed it, Einstein) and the name itself isn't very ingenious. The idea behind the name was to describe the way of working when they put their music together. In fact, there are no other persons involved during the process of making a TWINS record. Sven and Ronny are the composers, arrangers, musicians and producers and they are also responsible for mixing and mastering of the final product.
Their first single "The Desert Place" turned out to be a real dancefloor-smasher in Germany and the remixed long-version of this song entered the US-Billboard-Dance-Charts in 1981. The big European breakthrough came when they entered the Italian charts with their song "Face To Face" and it was one of the best-selling singles in Italy 1983.
After "Face To Face" they hit the Italian charts a few more times with songs like "Not the loving kind" and "Ballet Dancer". Due to the success in many European countries, some of the German radiostations started playing their songs and all of a sudden the TWINS had a chart-hit with "Ballet Dancer". During these days it was very unusual for a German dancefloor-band to have success in their own country. However, they next titles to hit the German charts were "Love System" and "Love in the Dark".
Due to their big success, Sven and Ronny had to put together a live-band because the fans wanted to see them on stage as well. The TWINS had the chance to prove that they were no "one-hit-wonder"
and according to their fans, their live-act was worth the money. They did many tours throughout Europe with their new five piece band, including a drummer who turned every show into an exciting event due to his powerful support for every TWINS song. A bit later the band set-up was changed again. The fact that Ronny had played drums for many years, enabled the TWINS to add more excitement to the bands live-shows by adding a few parts for two drummers.
By the end of 1987 after the TWINS had released their album "Hold on to your dreams" they were offered to do a tour in the Soviet Union which brought them to Moskow and Leningrad. During these 10 concerts the had the opportunity to play in front of a 120.000 people audience.
After the tour was finished Sven and Ronny decided to take a break and to produce some other artists in their own studios. In 1991 the TWINS had their "comeback" when they released a remix album of their greatest hits which was called "The ClassicsRemixed". The success of this CD was overwhelming and they thought that it's about time to put together a new album as well.
It took them nearly two years to finish this next album because they wanted to make the album as good as possible. The album was called "The Impossible Dream" and the song "Tonight" which was also featured on the album, made them hit the charts once again.
To complete their line of greatest hits CD's, they released the "12inch Classics"-CD in '94, which features many long-versions and mixes based on their greatest hits.
In recent years the TWINS played a few concerts in Germany with their new live-band.

2) The Twins was the duo of Paul McTell (also in the band The McTells) and Gillian. The Twins also shared members with Rig Veeda and released solo as well as split records and cassettes on the Illusion Production and Bi-Joopiter labels in the late eighties
All play highly idyosyncratic rock in a skeletal, surrealist way.
3) The Twins were a Dutch disco band from the early 1980's. In 1982 They released a cover of the Zager & Evans 1969 hit 'In The Year 2525' (b/w How Has Life Been Treating You) on the Salsoul label.
4) The Twins was the artist name for the first release by Gayle & Gillian Blakeney who, as with many before them, graduated from Australian soap opera 'Neighbours' to a music venture. Following both Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan, the Blakeney twins hooked up with PWL for 'All Mixed Up' before using their forenames - Gayle & Gillian - on future releases.

The Twins Lyrics

All you're dressed in is elastic
You make art with twirls and spins
Can't wait till the show begins
Anyone can see
You were made to dance for me
You're my you're my ballet dancer
Won't take no, no for an answer
I've been here for every show
There's not a step that I don't know
I know your body small and neat
dancing on your dancing feet
Anyone can see
You were made to dance for me
Won't take no, no for an answer
You're my you're my ballet dancer
Won't take no, no for an answer
The Twins’s song Ballet Dancer is an ode to a performer, where the singer is in complete awe of a ballerina's skills. The first stanza sets up the context, showcasing the dancer's agility and gracefulness in motion. The singer expresses excitement and anticipation for the forthcoming performance. The use of the phrase "you make art with twirls and spins" emphasizes how the ballerina's skill is not just about physical ability but is also a form of artistic expression.
In the subsequent stanzas, the singer declares his devotion and admiration towards the ballerina. He is committed to watching every show and knows every step the ballerina performs. The line "you were made to dance for me" implies that the ballerina's performance is solely for the singer's enjoyment. The repetition of the line "Won't take no, no for an answer" further emphasizes the singer's obsession with the ballerina's performance.
However, the song's lyrics have been criticized for being a little too dismissive of the ballerina's efforts, as it seems to be only about the singer's desire and admiration. Nevertheless, the song has an infectious melody and a danceable beat, making it a popular track of the '80s.

Il tempo non torna più.Peccato.
nostalgia dii quegli anni sarebbe stata così forte, ora?

Great song!!! Excellent sound !!! Back in the 80's ❤🇮🇹
@reneschmidt9799
this band has created a very modern and international sound for 1983, which was at least until 1987 still state of the art. They were just ahead of the times
@tonyswietochowski2282
Rene Schmidt - yes and what still amazes me until this day is the huge difference between early 80’s and later 80’s - like 1987.. this song in 83 and 87 was only four years apart!
@reneschmidt9799
@mymine2537
Volle Zustimmung.
@infinite_hyperspace
Fakt
@oliverruhe7827
UPS
@reneschmidt9799
@Nico-ds9nz
@thekennutzer2203
