WOLF
The Tyler Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Fuck, fuck you, fuck you, fuck him
Fuck everything else I can see
I know, fuck you I hate you so fucking much
I know you think I'm crazy
'Cause I think you're a fucking fag

Sam the music sounds good man!
You've been practicing

Thanks

Sam, this is Wolf
He's new here

Sup b

Wolf this is Sam
Sam and his band have been here at Flog Gnaw for a while
Sam's gonna show you around while I fill out these last minute field trip slips, alright?
Now you guys have fun

So you guys are into jazz?

Look, Wolf, Prairie Dog, Ronzell
Whatever the fuck your name is
We don't fuck with you or anybody else here, alright?

You stay the fuck out of our way and we'll stay out of yours
Capisce?

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Tyler, The Creator's song "Wolf" convey a lot of anger and frustration. The first few lines of the song are filled with profanity, showing the singer's disdain for everything around them. They even direct derogatory language towards someone they apparently hate. This hatred seems to stem from their belief that the other person considers them to be crazy.

The next section of the lyrics introduces new characters named Sam and Wolf, who seem to be meeting for the first time at Flog Gnaw, a music festival. Sam's band has been around for a while, and he is tasked with showing Wolf around while someone else fills out some paperwork. The lyrics suggest that Sam is more experienced in the music scene than Wolf, as he asks him if they are into jazz.

However, things take a turn when the singer of the song addresses Wolf directly, calling him names like "Prairie Dog" and "Ronzell" and warning him to stay out of their way. It's not entirely clear what prompts this outburst, but it would seem that the singer perceives Wolf as a threat, perhaps to their music or their territory. Overall, the song paints a picture of a volatile music scene where egos clash and tempers flare.
