THIS is music. Velvet voices in harmony. Never gets old.

Wayne Sprauve

Some of the smoothest vocal harmonies ever. Never see the likes again.

Lois Simmons

Yes, the opening comes from Mozart. Specifically, it is from the first (Allegro) movement of his Piano Sonata No. 16. Mozart described this piece as for beginners, so it is likely that many beginning piano students would know it. Also, this song was not the first to sample the Allegro. In 1939, Raymond Scott wrote an instrumental called "In an 18th Century Drawing Room." Jack Lawrence later added lyrics. Both the original Mozart Sonata and the Scott cover can be found on YouTube.

I have an LP called "The Sound Of The Wonderful Tymes" and it is a superb collection of beautiful songs done perfectly by The Tymes.  It was their 2nd LP, released in 12/63.  They certainly deserved to have a lot more hit recordings than they did.

I agree, Jim. But after "Somewhere," in 1964, as you know the start of Feb. 1964, saw the Advent of The Beatles and The British Invasion that swept England and America. Also, Motown Record s had captured The Black/Soul Sound. And according to what it said on the back print of their Album, The Tymes: The Cameo/Parkway Sessions of their hits from 1963-64, the management at Cameo, panicked, and started getting Guitar Groups together. What we would call send in the clones today. But Cameo neglected the many talented artists they had at their company, along with The Tymes. All they had to do was update the sound, and all the talented artists and performers could have led to Cameo Parkways "salvation", which was at their very doorstep! However, The Tymes had a hit later in 1966 w/ "People". And later in the 1970's with "Trust Maker" and "Ms. Grace" @ RCA Records.

When I was a little boy my mom gave me a dollar to spend at the grocery store. I pulled 2 , 45 records out of the bargain bin without knowing what was on them and bought them. When I got home and put them on the phono, I was blown away by the smooth vocals of these guys singing. To say the least I was on the best end of that bargain. I’m 67 years old and will never forget what great memories they still bring up in me.

The Tymes' beautiful finger-popping rhythm can also be heard at the beginning of their precedent 1963 summer hit, "So Much In Love"...
