Everywhere I Go
The U.S. Armed Forces Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

She's a rainbow and she loves the peaceful life
Knows I'll go crazy if I don't go crazy tonight

There's a part of me in chaos that's quiet
And there's a part of you that wants me to riot
Everybody needs to cry or needs to spit
Every sweet-tooth needs just a little hit
Every beauty needs to go out with an idiot
How can you stand next to the truth and not see it?
Oh, change of heart comes slow

It's not a hill, it's a mountain
As you start out the climb
Do you believe me or are you doubting?
We're gonna make it all the way to the light
But I know I'll go crazy if I don't go crazy tonight

Every generation gets a chance to change the world
Pity the nation that won't listen to you boys and girls
Is the sweetest melody the one we haven't heard?
Is it true that perfect love drives out all fear?
The right to be ridiculous is something I hold dear
Oh, but change of heart comes slow

It's not a hill, it's a mountain
As you start out the climb
You see, for me, I've been shouting
But we're gonna make it all the way to the light
But I know I'll go crazy if I don't go crazy tonight

Baby, baby, baby, I know I'm not alone
Baby, baby, baby, I know I'm not alone
Ha, ha, ha

Oh, it's not a hill it's a mountain
As you start out the climb
You see, for me, I've been shouting
Let's shout into the darkness, squeeze out sparks of light
You know we're gonna go crazy, you know we'll go crazy
You know we'll go crazy, if we don't go crazy tonight

Oh, slowly

Oh
Hold me slow

Overall Meaning

The U.S. Armed Forces' song "Everywhere I Go" speaks to the chaotic nature of life and the need for change. The opening lines describe a woman who loves a peaceful life, but the singer knows that he will "go crazy" if he doesn't "go crazy tonight." This juxtaposition between peace and chaos sets the tone for the rest of the song. The lyrics refer to the different parts of ourselves that crave change and excitement, while also acknowledging the need for balance and restraint. The line "Every sweet-tooth needs just a little hit" speaks to the idea of indulging in small pleasures to satisfy our desires. The song encourages us to embrace our individuality, as seen in the lines "The right to be ridiculous is something I hold dear." The song's message culminates in the repeated refrain: "But I know I'll go crazy if I don't go crazy tonight." It's a call to take risks and pursue the things that make us feel alive.

"Everywhere I Go" was written and performed by the Irish rock band U2 in 2009. The song was one of the singles released from their album "No Line on the Horizon." The song was written as a collaboration between the band members, with lyrics by Bono and music by the entire band. "Everywhere I Go" has been described as a "spacey love letter" to the United States.

This sung this while walking to the area where they did gradution. I loved it. Ive always been a fan of the military. My brother followed in my dad's foot steps and im following in my mom's becoming a military wife. Having a military family is one of the coolest but also one of the most heartbreaking times.

@@HoneyBadger762Or maybe he never knew that he had a (half) brother? I met my half-brother when I was 50. My father's second wife never told him that she was pregnant when she left him. My half-brother tracked down our father when he was 25 and finally got my father's name from his mother. Neither me nor dad knew he existed because she stole those 25 years from all three of us.
