Airborne
The U.S Army Special Forces Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
For we're the soldiers of liberty
Some fly their gliders through the enemy
Others are sky paratroopers
We're all-American and fight we will
Till all the guns of the foe are still (get ready)
Airborne from skies of blue, we're coming through, let's go
Put on your boots, your parachutes
Get all those gliders ready to attack today
For we'll be gone, into the dawn
To fight them all the 82nd way, hey, hey
We're all-American and proud to be
For we're the soldiers of liberty
Some fly their gliders through the enemy
Others are sky paratroopers
We're all-American and fight we will
Till all the guns of the foe are still (get ready)
Airborne from skies of blue, we're coming through, let's Go
The U.S Army Special Forces's song, Airborne, is a tribute to the airborne division of the United States military. The following lines describe the different ways in which these soldiers fight on the ground, some through gliders and others through sky paratrooping.

My brother, Capt. Wade T. Herrington did this during his whole twenty-year career in the US Army. He was the very best brother anyone could hope to have. I miss him more than I could ever state in mere words. RIP Tindall. Sgt. Herrington... US Army, (Ret.) TX

@richard millward My brother died peacefully in his sleep at seventy something years old. His freakin wife and no one else even told me that my brother was gone. I had not heard from him in a while so I Googled his name to see if I could find out anything and what came up was his obituary. What a shock that was! That is a hell of a way to find out your brother had died. I think my brother must have left me something in his will and his wife did not tell me my brother had died so I did not get whatever my brother had left me in his will. I did not even get to go to his funeral in North Carolina. I live in Texas. I am the only one left in my family and I live alone at 77 years old.
