Little Girl
The Ultimates Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Don't lie little darlin' - you're all in love
Who else rides a weeknight in a nowhere bus?
Sorta rough, but this one's a little faster than I thought
Don't lie - we'll know
Little Apple girl, we'll know

[Chorus]
Hope you don't mind it if I'm - if I'm outta line
'Cause I've been drinkin' and I'm felling fine - felling fine
Twenty bucks to just say - say what's on my mind
I couldn't then, but who cares - now it's time - now
It's time

Don't cry little darlin' - it's all in fun
Your heart's not a target for my loaded gun
Sewed her up, but this one's never gonna come undone
by us - we're drunk
Little Apple girl, we're drunk

[Chorus]

Overall Meaning

In the song "Little Girl" by The Ultimates, the singer seems to be addressing a girl who he believes is in love with him. He questions her about who else would ride a bus on a weeknight, reminding her that they both know what's going on between them. He notes that things are moving a little faster than he expected, but indicates that he doesn't mind. The term "Little Apple girl" is used throughout the song, and it's unclear exactly what this means - it could simply be a term of endearment or a reference to the Big Apple, New York City.

The chorus of the song talks about the singer being out of line due to drinking, but feeling fine nonetheless. He mentions that he would be willing to say what's on his mind if he had twenty bucks, though he seems to think that it doesn't really matter anymore. He asserts that it's time to speak his truth, and seems confident that the girl will know exactly what he means.

The second verse reassures the girl that the singer's intentions are all in good fun, and that he won't be causing any real harm. He uses a metaphor about a loaded gun, implying that he could hurt her with his actions, but that he won't. The term "Little Apple girl" is used again, this time in reference to both the singer and his friends being drunk.

Overall, the song seems to be a lighthearted exploration of flirtation and attraction. There's a hint of danger in the lyrics, but it's mostly played off as a joke. The chorus suggests that the singer is more bold when he's been drinking, but the verses show that he's still somewhat hesitant to reveal his true feelings. Despite this, he seems to think that the girl already knows what's up between them, and is ready for him to take the next step.

Maaaaaaan, I wanted an entire solo Batman movie like this.

@Thomas D Walker ikr? I too hated Pattinson and thought he would be cringe as Batman, but holy shit, after seeing the movie, Pattinson is Battinson. Easily the best live action Batman I have seen.

@whoIS AminoBlack I am all about different interpretations of the character, and I had so many issues with Snyder's version because it makes Batman look more like a villain than a hero. Reeves is doing great things and he is not insulting or degrading the character, he's staying true to who Batman is.

whoIS AminoBlack

@Brandon Smith exactly. The Batman was a perfect Batman film. If you are truly a fan of the character then you're happy about the Reevesverse. It's just so incredible all around. And I'm so stoked we're getting a proper version of Gotham again and not just Chicago or new York

Brandon Smith

I didn't/ don't. it's a complete bastardization of Batman. Thank God Matt Reeves is doing his films and restoring a consistent loyal version of the character to the screen again.

@max Batman says “I am vengeance.” In the original Batman TAS. Is Batfleck the only version of Batman you’ve watched?? Batman doesn’t kill like this one

Typically, while Batman strikes fear into his enemies, the citizens still see him as a hero and a saviour, this Batman however, is so brutal and terrifying that even the citizens fear him, and I love it.

Of course, you love it! The attributes are akin to your religious beliefs and the God of your world, so shall you be ruled by it. For your instance more than a movie..

shesssssssssssssss

@Tevan Riley its supreme batman mybe?? Or a sinister batman but not that evil

Love the idea of a Batman who would beat the shit out of you. Pattinson is a great example because he literally broke a random thugs arm and smashed his face rather than just knocking him out. But branding is a little too much in my opinion. Batman believes in rehabilitating criminals. They can’t be rehabilitated if they spend the rest of their lives in a wheelchair or with scars branded on their chests. They just would want revenge on him
