From a different point of view
Would I have done the same things
If I had filled your shoes
Would I act on impulse
Or would I sacrifice my pride
To release these emotions
That I'm holding inside
Spending every hour of every day
Trying to understand what's hapening to me
What could I have said or done
A little differently
Now I'm trying to hold on
This friendship meant so much to me
I never thought I saw a change in you
The Undecided's song Looking Back expresses the emotions of reflection, regret, and confusion over a strained friendship. The singer is trying to make sense of a misunderstanding that happened between them and their friend. They question whether they would have acted differently if they were in their friend's position, and whether they would have been able to put aside their pride to resolve the issue. The singer is spending every hour of every day trying to understand what went wrong and what they could have done differently.
The song is a relatable portrayal of the intricacies of relationships, particularly those between friends. It delves into the struggles of communication and understanding, and how misunderstandings can lead to the unraveling of a once tight-knit bond. The song's melancholic tone and honest lyrics reflect the complexity of emotions that come with losing a friend.
