In 2002 they played with bands such as Bad Religion, Jimmy Eat World or Dover. Then, toured with Joshua and again, this time with Maple. And after those tours they entered the studio to record their second LP, called 'An Investment in Logistics' in December 2002.
The album was released in early 2003, and received a great acceptance from the music world: Mondo Sonoro magazine designated 'An Investment in Logistics' as the best 2003's album and they reached the top of the national independent scene in a very short time. And thanks to this, John Peel invited them to record their second Peel Session in December 2003.
In next year's spring they entered the studio again to record 'Rock for Food', their third album. This Living Kills appeared as single early, but the album was not released until September 2004.
Rock for Food was also acclaimed and the RockZone Magazine designated the album as the 2004 best in Spain.
Up to that moment they've been recording with BCore, but in 2005 they swithed to Subterfuge Records to record their fourth album, called ''We Push You Pull'', appeared in October 2006. The first single was 'Spin in the Rye'.
On March 2009 they released their fifth CD, called ''Avida Dolars'' via, again, Subterfuge Records.
On May 2010 they officially announced in their Facebook page their split-up after ten years of activity, and left a pending tour planned to go on on may and june the same year.
Cease Fire
The Unfinished Sympathy Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You've washed your hands and run away
Just like a long long fight
So summarize and relocate
Drawn all those fears that you can't ignore
The pain you never want to show
This time blood has dried
God help us break out
This war can't be won
God help us break out
Our love is gone
By now our lives have failed
In terms of love and happiness
You know we can't demand
A second chance to live our way
It's all in the tune of every song
It's just the wind against its blow
It's time to watch the signs
Surrender to our bravery
God help us break out
This war can't be won
God help us break out
Our love is gone
God help us break out
This war can't be won
God give us some break now
This love's undone
God help us break out
This war can't be won
God help us break out
Our love is gone
God help us break out
This war can't be won
Don't let it all break down
This love is wrong
The Unfinished Sympathy's song "Cease Fire" addresses the aftermath of a failed relationship and the emotional turmoil that follows. The lyrics suggest that the conflict between the two parties has reached its peak, and both individuals have given up trying to make things work. The line "This time blood has dried, you've washed your hands and run away" implies that the situation has become too painful to bear, and one person has chosen to walk away rather than trying to sort things out.
The song is a reflection of the harsh realities of life and how love can sometimes turn sour. The line "Our love is gone, our lives have failed in terms of love and happiness" speaks to the idea that despite putting in effort towards the relationship, it ultimately failed. The song also touches on the idea of surrendering to bravery and finding the courage to move on from a broken relationship. "It's time to watch the signs, surrender to our bravery" suggests that it's time to read the signs and accept that it's time to let go.
Overall, "Cease Fire" is a powerful ballad that captures the emotional intensity of the end of a relationship. The lyrics poignantly convey the raw emotions that come with heartbreak while encouraging listeners to find the courage to move on.
