Across The Nation
The Union Underground Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I'll get the guns, the drugs
For my generation
I'll take the fall
The saints, across the nation
Yeah it's the sex, the Gods, the fakes, the frauds
They're messing with me
Come on, come on, come on
Let's get it on

Move to the music
Play that fucking music
Move it to the music yeah (Let's get it on)
Move to my music
Play that fucking music
Live through my music yeah

I'll get the guns, the drugs
To my generation
I'll take the fall
The saints, across the nation
Yeah it's the sex, the Gods, the freaks, the frauds
They're messing with me
Come on, come on, come on
Let's get it on

Move to the music
Play that fucking music
Move it to the music yeah (Let's get it on)
Move to my music
Play that fucking music
Live through my music yeah

Forget the lies, the money
We're in this together and through it all
They said that nothing's forever
Well they refused to see the change in me
Why won't they wake up?
Come on, come on, come on
Let's get it on

Move to the music
Play that fucking music
Move it to the music yeah (Let's get it on)
Move to my music
Play that fucking music
Live through my music yeah

Move to the music
Move it to the music yeah
Move to the music
Live through the music yeah
Move to the music
Move it to the music yeah
Move to my music
Live through my music yeah

Move to the music
Play that fucking music
Move it to the music yeah (Let's get it on)
Move to my music
Play that fucking music
Live through my music yeah

Move to the music
Play that fucking music
Move it to the music yeah (Let's get it on)
Move to my music

Play that fucking music
Live through my music yeah

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to The Union Underground's song "Across The Nation" can be interpreted as a call to action, urging the listener to rise up and take control in their own way. The opening lines, "I'll get the guns, the drugs, for my generation, I'll take the fall, the saints, across the nation," suggest that the singer is willing to take on the burden of rebellion, fighting for their generation and their cause no matter the consequences. The following lines mention the sex, Gods, fakes, and frauds that are "messing with me," implying that there are larger forces at play trying to suppress the singer's message.

The chorus, with its repeated exhortations to "Move to the music, play that fucking music, move it to the music yeah, let's get it on," could be seen as a rallying cry, urging the listener to use music as a means of expressing themselves and unifying their cause. The bridge, which declares "Forget the lies, the money, we're in this together and through it all," reinforces the idea that the singer is fighting for a common cause, and that the listener should join them in taking action.

Overall, "Across The Nation" is a song that celebrates rebelliousness and individual freedom, urging its listeners to stand up for their beliefs and fight against the forces that seek to constrain them.

As a child I used to get so goddamn excited to tune into Monday Night Raw, And watching the Intro every Monday made me feel at home . Because this is the era I belong to .
HHH'S World Heavyweight Title Reign, And Brock Lesnars WWE Title Reign. This is no exaggeration but I began to loose the excitement , from 2007, and onwards.
At that point I didn't even notice it till just recently , but I no longer sat down anxiously waiting for the clock to reach 7:00 P.M for Friday Night Smackdown. 8:00 P.M. For Raw.
I remmember the days when I'd Watch the very last few minutes of Law And Order Episode awaiting it to end so I could see what was going to happen on Raw .
Yes, I used to be extremely addicted , the storylines (though at the time they weren't just storylines ), had me glued , the roster I have to admit I didn't cherish much until I got older , like I mean it's only now that I miss the Old Raw & Smackdown Rosters. Back then, I was too young to pay too much attention to the wrestlers.
But now it's like "Okay wtf happend to this guy , why the fuck is that guy making movies , what the fuck is he doing in TNA ?"

It went from, Anxiously sitting in front of the TV waiting for the clock to hit 7:00 or 8:00, to Just watching the episode as it aired, To Peering In, To Only Watching The Begginning , Divas Match & Tale End Of Every Raw & Smackdown, To Occasionally peering in just to see what's going on in current storyline , To not even buying the paperviews anymore , To only watching it when Undertaker is in a Match or Makes a Return, To Only Watching WM , To Only Watching Undertakers Match At WM'S, To Not Even Buying/Watching WM, To Not Even Watching Monday Night Raw Or Friday Night Smackdown .

Seriously , it's a crazy ass downwards crescendo. And part of it makes me happy, the other makes me sad .
Happy I got to live through a great Era in the sport of Pro Wrestling , Sad that It will never happen again . Those days are over and as a young child I took advantage of them.

I truely think it's safe to say that after Guerrero & Benoit Died , & After Kurt Went To TNA,
Wrestling had definetely changed for the worst .
Todays wrestling makes me feel ashamed to be a wrestling fan honestly .

This song in particular is quite iconic for any wrestling fan such as myself , but if you were to play this song in front of anyone that's never watched an episode of wrestling , they'd never know what you were playing . Some of the most exclusive themes came from the pro wrestling companies, and I'm proud to know almost every single one of them by heart .
Including entrance music's, Mini Titatrons, Taunts , Movesets, Pyro, Special Effects You name it .
All thanks to the classic Smackdown Vs Raw Games, (Gosh I fucking miss those games and I can't fucking stand the W'13-16, Series ). It makes me even more sick honestly about still kinda sorta being a pro wrestling fan.

Nonetheless, I'll continue to stay in the past thanks to YouTube and themes like this . Cheers to all of the Ruthless Aggression Era Fans And Retro Pro Wrestling Fans !

Exactly! It's missed

My name doesn't really matter

The ruthless aggression era was pure badassery. There was no way I would miss a RAW or Smackdown program. I don't hate current wrestling, but I think that is really hard to make wrestling as popular as it was back then.

It's crazy that almost 20yrs later and no RAW theme has topped this. WWE should really use it for raw again.
