How can I go on with it much further?
I didn't think that it would go any further,
But now it has and it's making me nervous,
A wonderful motion,
That is turning in your every motion,
Oh I,
I think I might be losing my mind,
[Chorus]
When I hear a melody calling,
Is your melody calling?
Isn't anyone calling?
Melody calling.
Melody calling (x4)
Oh I,
How can I go on with it much further?
I didn't think that it would go any further,
But now it has and it's making me nervous,
A wonderful motion,
That is turning in your every motion,
Oh I,
I think I might be losing my mind,
Oh I,
I just did an undeniable order,
order,
I hear it moving under the border,
Cussing the ocean,
And calling in your every motion
I think I might be losing my mind,
[Chorus: x2]
When I hear a melody calling,
Is your melody calling?
Isn't anyone calling?
Melody calling.
Melody calling (x4)
The Vaccines's song Melody Calling is about the fear and uncertainty surrounding the deepening of a romantic relationship. The singer begins by questioning how much further he can go with this relationship, as he didn't anticipate it going this far and is now feeling nervous. He describes this feeling as a "wonderful motion" that is turning in his every motion, perhaps referring to the butterflies in his stomach or the excitement that comes with a new romance. However, he also fears that he might be losing his mind, indicating the anxiety and confusion that often accompany strong emotions.
The chorus speaks to the power of music to evoke emotions and memories, particularly in the context of love. The singer asks if anyone else hears the melody calling, which could be interpreted as a metaphor for the call of a romantic partner or a euphemism for the music that reminds us of our past loves. Either way, it highlights the idea of a universal emotional experience that transcends individual relationships.
Overall, Melody Calling is a poignant exploration of the highs and lows of romance, and the ways in which music can amplify our emotions and perceptions of reality.
