Having been signed to Columbia Records, the band released their second single "Post Break-Up Sex" on 24th January 2011. The song entered at number thirty-two in the U.K. The band released their debut album What Did You Expect from The Vaccines? on 14th March through Columbia Records. The album made the top five in the U.K. Singles released after the album launch were "If You Wanna", "All in White", "Nørgaard" and "Wetsuit" / "Tiger Blood".
The Vaccines were also nominated for an MTV Award for 'Best New Band of 2011'.
The No Hope Songfacts reports that The Vaccines second album, The Vaccines Come Of Age, will be released September 3, 2012. The first single to be released from the record, "No Hope", received its first play on Zane Lowe's BBC 1 Radio show on May 28, 2012..

The Vaccines’ “Want You So Bad” is a lovestruck frenzy, an ode to desire and longing. The song starts off with a plea for attention: “Cook it up. Come on bite the hand that feeds you. It's what I do. But you know somebody needs you.” The singer wants the person he is addressing to give him a chance, to see him as someone worth loving. He’s hungry for their love and affection, to the point that he’ll do whatever it takes to get it.
The pre-chorus moves into a more desperate plea, with the singer asking how it feels to be wanted: “Oh, how does it feel? Oh, how does it feel?” But it’s in the chorus that the emotion really takes over. Each time it repeats, it gets more frenzied, as the singer repeats his need for this person: “'Cause I want you so bad. Want you so bad. Oh, I want you so bad.
