Venus In Furs
The Velvet Underground (feat. Nico) Lyrics
Shiny, shiny, shiny boots of leather
Whiplash girl child in the dark
Comes in bells, your servant, don't forsake him
Strike, dear mistress, and cure his heart
Downy sins of streetlight fancies
Chase the costumes she shall wear
Ermine furs adorn the imperious
Severin, Severin awaits you there
I am tired, I am weary
I could sleep for a thousand years
Different colors made of tears
Kiss the boot of shiny, shiny leather
Shiny leather in the dark
Tongue of thongs, the belt that does await you
Strike, dear mistress, and cure his heart
Severin, Severin, speak so slightly
Severin, down on your bended knee
Taste the whip, in love not given lightly
Taste the whip, now plead for me
I am tired, I am weary
I could sleep for a thousand years
A thousand dreams that would awake me
Different colors made of tears
Shiny, shiny, shiny boots of leather
Whiplash girl child in the dark
Severin, your servant comes in bells, please don't forsake him
Strike, dear mistress, and cure his heart

I know the somg is about bdsm but i feel its music from the ancient times.. like i feel like i am a witch standing in a sacred circle, casting spells and this song is playing in the background..

Yeah, you can't get past the obvious meaning—BDSM—but to me it just as easily reads as a depressive piece where he weaves thoughts of fascism, control and deep anxiety into everything. He's ambiguous just enough that it could be an articulation of Nazism, and its aesthetic ties to classical Roman materials. It's just a tremendous work, made chilling from his Jewish ancestry.

I first heard this song when I was 12, and it made me feel really disturbed, but I also couldn't stop thinking about it. I would fall asleep with this scary tune constantly in my head ahahah
