They began their career in 1991, cutting their first 7" record later that year with the lineup of Joey Vindictive (vocals), Johnny Personality (bass), Billy Blastoff (guitar), Dr. Bob (guitar), P.J. Parti (drums) and Erik Elsewhere (drums). The band would end up releasing 12 albums until July of 1996, when Joey Vindictive revealed that his health issues would prevent the band from going on. Luckily for him, he overcame his ailments to re-form the band in 2000, cutting a new album and overseeing the re-release of a significant part of their catalog. Dr. Bob died in 2003 due to a heroin overdose. Their song "The Invisible Man" was featured in the Ubisoft game Watch Dogs, where it attracted attention to restart the band once more in 2013, releasing a new EP titled Mono-Flexi, and to remaster most of their previous songs as Songbooks coming in volumes starting from I to III.
The Vindictives' website is currently down indefinitely.

No place to roam
I ain't got a home
No place to roam
I'm a lonely boy
I ain't got a home
I got a voice
I can sing like a bird
And I can sing like a frog
I'm a lonely boy
I ain't got a home
Woo-woo-woo-woo-woo-woo-woo-woo
I ain't got a man
I ain't got a son
I ain't got a daughter
I ain't got no one
I'm a lonely frog
I ain't got a home
Woo-woo-woo-woo-woo-woo-woo-woo
I ain't got no money
I ain't got a holder
I ain't got no sister
Not even a brother
I'm a lonely fuck
I ain't got a home
What you sayin' to me,
What you sayin' to me
What you sayin' to me
What you sayin' to me,
I'm a lonely fuck,
Ain't got a home.
Woo-woo-woo-woo-woo-woo-woo-woo
The Vindictives's song "Ain't Got No Home" is a song that expresses the loneliness and desperation of someone who has lost everything they had, including a home. The repetition of "I ain't got a home" in each stanza emphasizes the feeling of hopelessness and isolation that the singer is experiencing. The use of the word "lonely" throughout the song also reinforces this theme.
The second stanza, where the singer talks about their ability to sing, adds a layer of complexity to the song. It suggests that while the singer might have a talent, it doesn't offer much solace when they don't have a place to call home. The use of animal imagery, "I can sing like a bird, and I can sing like a frog," creates a sense of whimsy and adds an element of humor to the song, which is in contrast to the overall somber tone.
The last stanza is particularly striking because it shows that the singer has lost everything, including family and friends. The use of profanity in the line "I'm a lonely fuck" adds a sense of rawness and authenticity to the song. The wind sound that follows in the repeated "Woo-woo-woo-woo-woo-woo-woo-woo" creates a sense of melancholy that lingers and adds to the overall emotion of the song.
