They began their career in 1991, cutting their first 7" record later that year with the lineup of Joey Vindictive (vocals), Johnny Personality (bass), Billy Blastoff (guitar), Dr. Bob (guitar), P.J. Parti (drums) and Erik Elsewhere (drums). The band would end up releasing 12 albums until July of 1996, when Joey Vindictive revealed that his health issues would prevent the band from going on. Luckily for him, he overcame his ailments to re-form the band in 2000, cutting a new album and overseeing the re-release of a significant part of their catalog. Dr. Bob died in 2003 due to a heroin overdose. Their song "The Invisible Man" was featured in the Ubisoft game Watch Dogs, where it attracted attention to restart the band once more in 2013, releasing a new EP titled Mono-Flexi, and to remaster most of their previous songs as Songbooks coming in volumes starting from I to III.
The Vindictives' website is currently down indefinitely.
Glad To See You Go
The Vindictives Lyrics

Gonna take a chance on her one bullet in the cylinder
And in a moment of passion get the glory like Charles Manson
Gonna smile, I'm gonna laugh you're gonna get a blood bath
And in a moment of passion get the glory like Charles Manson
Now I know the score I don't need you anymore don't want
You cause you're a bore I need somebody good I need a miracle
Should I take a chance on her? One bullet in the cylinder
Gonna smile, I'm gonna laugh they're gonna want my autograph
And in a moment of passion get the glory like Charles Manson
You gotta go go go go goodbye
Glad to see you go go go go goodbye
Goodbye
The Vindictives's cover of Glad To See You Go by Ramones takes a sinister turn as the lyrics detail the singer's plan to take a deadly risk and get the glory they believe they deserve. The opening lines "Gonna take a chance on her one bullet in the cylinder / And in a moment of passion get the glory like Charles Manson" suggests a dark ambition to commit a violent act and become notorious like the infamous cult leader. This theme of seeking fame through notoriety is further emphasized in the lines "Gonna smile, I'm gonna laugh you're gonna get a blood bath / And in a moment of passion get the glory like Charles Manson" which paint a disturbing image of the singer's intentions.
The chorus makes it clear that the singer is happy to see the subject of the song go, and with lines like "Now I know the score I don't need you anymore don't want / You cause you're a bore" it seems that the desire for fame and notoriety is a driving force behind the singer's actions. The final lines "Goodbye" are delivered in a menacing tone that leaves the listener with the impression that they have witnessed something unsettling.
Overall, The Vindictives's cover of Glad To See You Go is a disturbing interpretation of a classic Ramones song that delves into themes of violence, ambition, and fame.
