They began their career in 1991, cutting their first 7" record later that year with the lineup of Joey Vindictive (vocals), Johnny Personality (bass), Billy Blastoff (guitar), Dr. Bob (guitar), P.J. Parti (drums) and Erik Elsewhere (drums). The band would end up releasing 12 albums until July of 1996, when Joey Vindictive revealed that his health issues would prevent the band from going on. Luckily for him, he overcame his ailments to re-form the band in 2000, cutting a new album and overseeing the re-release of a significant part of their catalog. Dr. Bob died in 2003 due to a heroin overdose. Their song "The Invisible Man" was featured in the Ubisoft game Watch Dogs, where it attracted attention to restart the band once more in 2013, releasing a new EP titled Mono-Flexi, and to remaster most of their previous songs as Songbooks coming in volumes starting from I to III.

I met her at the Burger King we fell in love by the soda machine
So we took the car downtown the kids were hanging out all around
Then we went down to Coney Island on the coaster and around again
And no one's gonna ever tear us apart cause she's my sweetheart
All right, oh yeah
Oh oh I love her so Oh oh I love her so Oh oh I love her so
Hanging out on a night like this I'm gonna give her a great big kiss
I'm gonna make her mine and everything's gonna be real fine
I met her at the Burger King we fell in love by the soda machine
So we took the car downtown the kids were hanging out all around
Then we went down to Coney Island on the coaster and around again
And no one's gonna ever tear us apart cause she's my sweetheart
All right, oh yeah
Oh oh I love her so Oh oh I love her so Oh oh I love her so
Oh oh I love her so Oh oh I love her so Oh oh I love her so
The Vindictives' cover of the Ramones' I Love Her So is a short, sweet, and upbeat song about young love. The lyrics describe a couple who meet at a Burger King and fall in love by the soda machine. Despite being surrounded by other kids in downtown areas and at Coney Island, the two are inseparable and no one can tear them apart because she's his sweetheart. The song ends with the intention to give the girl a great big kiss, make her his, and everything will be just fine.
The simplicity of the lyrics and the catchy chorus make this song a great representation of the classic punk rock sound. The youthful nature of the lyrics is a common theme within punk rock, and it captures the essence of the Ramones sound, which inspired many bands following them. The Ramones are considered to be the founders of punk rock, and their influence can be heard in the Vindictives' style.
