The Demon of the Mire
The Vision Bleak Lyrics

A nameless horror did swell
From whence it came and whither it shall go
not the wisest man could tell
Just one shuttered light through the darkness shines
A lonesome hut at the fetid moor...
It is filled with fright and with hopeless whines
from a boy, young and pure
Wind howls - evil prowls
at the chamber door
Fog rolls - dead souls
in the dark galore
Wood crack - pitch black
at the chamber door
Swamps brew - clouds spew
in the dark galore
It is the demon of the mire, he shall rest fornevermore
Whom he calls and haunts by ill desire, he shall rest fornevermore
Through his realms he leads his ghostly choir, he shall rest fornevermore
It is the demon of the mire, he shall rest fornevermore
The boy it did consume, forever he will dwell
in the malice of his doom
Wind howls - evil prowls
at the chamber door
Fog rolls - dead souls
in the dark galore
Wood crack - pitch black
at the chamber door
Swamps brew - clouds spew
in the dark galore
It is the demon of the mire, he shall rest fornevermore
Whom he calls and haunts by ill desire, he shall rest fornevermore
Through his realms he leads his ghostly choir, he shall rest fornevermore
It is the demon of the mire, he shall rest fornevermore
The Demon of the Mire, as depicted in The Vision Bleak's song, is an entity shrouded in mystery and malevolence. It is described as a "nameless horror" that emerged from the depths of the ponds and the murk of the firs. No one can fathom from where it came or where it will go. However, it seems to be able to exert control over the fate of those who cross its path. The song tells of a boy who resides in a lonesome hut at the fetid moor, where the shuttered light is the only glimpse of hope in the darkness. Unfortunately, his pleas for help and his pitiful whines go unheard, as the demon of the mire claims him for eternity. The demon is depicted as leaving behind a trail of destruction, filling the air with the howls of the wind and the moaning of the dead. The sense of foreboding is palpable as the demon is portrayed as an unstoppable force that cannot be placated or defeated. The final line of the song is particularly chilling as it states "the boy it did consume, forever he will dwell, in the malice of his doom." The song lingers in the memory and leaves a deep sense of unease, masterfully invoking primal fears of the dark, the unknown, and the sinister.

Great song...full of inspiration

I love the slower middle part, the intro/outro so to speak are a little too chaotic for my taste. That initial buildup when things slow down is so good. (0:40)

Great band but every time I hear it I can't help but compare it to Empyrium. I know they are totally different bands but Empyrium is my all time favorite band and completely unique. I could name several other bands that sound like this but none that sound like Empyrium.
