The Way I Feel
The Waynes Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Only once the drugs are done, that I feel like dying I feel like dying
Only once the drugs are done, that I feel like dying I feel like dying
Only once the drugs are done, that I feel like dying I feel like dying
(I feel like, I feel like, I feel like)

Yeah, hello
Get lifted
Yeah, I get lifted
Yeah, yeah, so get lifted yup! Haha

I am sittin' on the clouds, I got smoke comin' from my seat
I can play basketball with the moon, I got the whole world at my feet
Playin' touch football, on marijuana street
Or, in a marijuana field, you are so beneath my cleets
Get high, so high, that I feel like lying
Down in a cigar, roll me up and smoke me 'cause
(I feel like dying)

Only once the drugs are done, that I feel like dying I feel like dying
Only once the drugs are done, that I feel like dying I feel like dying
(I feel like, I feel like, I feel like)

Swimming laps around a bottle of Louis the Thirteenth
Jumpin' off of a mountain into a sea of Codeine
I'm at the top of the top, but still I climb
And if I should ever fall, the ground would then turn to wine
Pop, pop, I feel like flying, then I feel like frying, then
(I feel like dying)

Only once the drugs are done, that I feel like dying I feel like dying
Only once the drugs are done, that I feel like dying I feel like dying
(I feel like, I feel like, I feel like)

I can mingle with the stars, and throw a party on Mars
I am a prisoner, locked up behind Xanax bars
I have just boarded a plane, without a pilot
And violets are blue, roses are red
Daisies are yellow, the flowers are dead
Wish I can give you this feeling I feel like buying
And if my dealer don't have no more, then
(I feel like dying)

Only once the drugs are done, that I feel like dying I feel like dying
Only once the drugs are done, that I feel like dying I feel like dying

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Lil Wayne's song "I Feel Like Dying" depict the sensations and experiences one can have under the influence of drugs. The repetition of the phrase "Only once the drugs are done, that I feel like dying I feel like dying" conveys the notion that the only way the artist can experience his desired sensations is through drug use. He describes feeling like he is sitting on the clouds and can play basketball with the moon. These hyperboles are meant to convey his feelings of invincibility and the otherworldly sensations he experiences while under the influence. The artist also talks about swimming laps around a bottle of Louis the Thirteenth, which is an expensive cognac, and jumping off a mountain into a sea of codeine. These references to luxury and excess further illustrate the escapist mindset of someone indulging in drugs.

Throughout the song, Lil Wayne references his desire to escape reality, to distance himself from the mundane and experience something extraordinary. The lyrics are vivid and borderline surreal, describing the artist's perception of reality while on drugs. In the last verse, Lil Wayne states that he wishes he could share this feeling with someone else, which implies that the experience of being high can be isolating.

In sum, the lyrics of "I Feel Like Dying" by Lil Wayne depict the sensations and experiences someone under the influence of drugs can have. The song conveys a desire to escape reality, a sense of invincibility and an otherworldly experience while under the influence of drugs.

THIS VIDEO IS SO ICONIC! It is a slap in the face of those "little monsters" that keep being annoying asking for the "old gaga". She did an amazing metaphor "killing" the alter egos from past eras, basically saying that the past is in the past, just move the fuck on and appreciate what she's doing RIGHT NOW, in the present. Do you guys still don't understand the way Gaga thinks about music and art? She's always reinventing herself, so just enjoy her vision and be thankful that she still making music...

@Abercrombieindya

Lucas Sebá not really but ok

@fendifk1223

Lucas Sebá but where did you get any of that idea from this video? lmao

@queenmonique1481

Lucas Sebá right

@BradMondel

I don't believe this current Gaga is the actual "real" Gaga. It's just another of her alter egos. Her claiming that she is killing her alter egos is insane because we all know Gaga isn't a country girl, she is from New York for crying out loud so you can add this Joanne phase to her list of egos as well.

@fendifk1223

Brad Mondel joanne isn't even country though lol
