1) The Weekend
From humble beginnings in the summer of 1995 when two young girls from London, Canada, Andrea Wasse (vox/guitar) and Lorien Jones (vox/bass) found kindred spirit Lincoln Cushman (keyboards) wandering the streets, The Weekend’s reason for existence has been to rock the tired masses. The Weekend's self-titled debut full-length record, produced by Andy Magoffin at the House of Miracles, contained ten sensational gems that did just that. The Weekend’s fresh-faced approach, infectious vocal harmonies, sweet keyboards, crunchy guitar and heartstring tugging lyrics have become a beacon of rock hope in this era of bland music saturation.
“The Weekend” spent 16 weeks in the Top Ten radio charts for Campus Radio nationwide which led them to opening for such notable acts as Green Day, Matthew Good Band, Big Sugar, 54:40 and Default. Their music has been featured on television in episodes of “Family Law,” Mary-Kate & Ashley Olson's “So Little Time”, and the CBC series “Our Hero.” The Weekend’s pop rock candy floss flavored sound has made them one of the most popular independent bands in the country, being featured on CBC Radio's “Just Concerts” along with radio and websites around the world. In 2001, MGM Distribution released their debut album domestically in Australia, and there are plans to tour “down under” this fall.
2) The Weekend is also the name of the now defunct duo consisting of Abel Tesfaye (now The Weeknd) and Jeremy Rose.

I'm gonna follow you
Past the belfry and into the city
I'll find out where you are
Jump into someone's car
And bring you back home
If you run to the west coast
I'll call from my eastern side
You know I could find a ride
And if this one thing's true
I know that I'll find you and bring you back home
And so the town was talking
So you started walking
The town was talking
So you started walking
[Chorus]
In a perfect world
I'd be your only girl
And we wouldn't have to keep it
Just a dirty little secret
You're not where you're meant to be
That's right in front of me
'Cause you went off your own way
Because I couldn't make you stay
But I want to make it right
I'll look for you every night
And bring you back home
And so the town was talking
So you started walking
The town was talking
So you started walking
[Chorus x2]
But I've seen the loneliest hearts in my travels
They're waiting around while this whole thing unravels
And I've seen the loneliest hearts in my travels
But I don't want that for myself
[Chorus x3]
I know I've messed up
When you say you've had enough
And that you couldn't be with me
But I want to make you see
That I'll always love you dear
Let me make one thing clear
I'll bring you back home
Yes I'll always love you dear
And let me make one thing clear
I'll bring you back home
The song "Perfect World" by The Weekend tells the story of a person determined to find and bring back their lost love. The lyrics suggest that despite the distance, the singer will always follow their partner wherever they go. They are not deterred by the fact their love interest is far away or the gossip of small-town life. They vow to keep looking for their partner, and their love will always be present; they will bring them back home. The lyrics hint at regret and perhaps mistakes made in the relationship that led to their partner leaving them. However, the singer wants a chance to make things work and confesses their ongoing love for their partner.
The song's chorus emphasizes the perfect world where the singer's love will be enough, and their relationship will not have to be kept as "just a dirty little secret." The lyrics suggest the singer is ready and willing to put in the necessary effort to make things right again. The song's bridge presents a contrast between the very real feeling of loneliness and the hope of finding their love again. The final verse expresses the singer's remorse and their sincere desire to make amends by bringing their partner home.

Wherever you run to
No matter where you go
I'm gonna follow you
I will chase after you
Past the belfry and into the city
Through the town and into the bustling streets
I'll find out where you are
I will locate you
Jump into someone's car
Hitch a ride with a stranger
And bring you back home
And bring you back to where you belong
If you run to the west coast
Even if you move to the other side of the country
I'll call from my eastern side
I will still reach out to you from where I am
You know I could find a ride
I will always find a way
And if this one thing's true
If there is one thing I am certain of
I know that I'll find you and bring you back home
It's that I will locate you and bring you back where you belong
And so the town was talking
Rumors were spreading throughout the community
So you started walking
You decided to leave and escape from the gossip
In a perfect world
In an ideal scenario
I'd be your only girl
I would be your one and only lover
And we wouldn't have to keep it
We could be open and honest about our relationship
Just a dirty little secret
Instead of having to keep our love a secret
You're not where you're meant to be
You are not where you should be
That's right in front of me
You are actually right here in front of me
Cause you went off your own way
But you chose to go your own path and leave me behind
Because I couldn't make you stay
Because I couldn't convince you to stay with me
But I want to make it right
But I want to fix things
I'll look for you every night
I will search for you tirelessly every night
And bring you back home
And bring you back to where you belong
But I've seen the loneliest hearts in my travels
Throughout my travels, I have witnessed the sadness of lonely hearts
They're waiting around while this whole thing unravels
They wait for something that will never happen
But I don't want that for myself
But I do not want to have that kind of life
I know I've messed up
I am aware that I have made mistakes
When you say you've had enough
When you declare that you cannot take it anymore
And that you couldn't be with me
And that you cannot be in a relationship with me
But I want to make you see
But I want you to understand
That I'll always love you dear
That I will always love you
Let me make one thing clear
One thing that I want to be certain of
I'll bring you back home
Is that I will bring you back to where you belong
Yes I'll always love you dear
I will always love you
And let me make one thing clear
And one thing that I want to ensure is
I'll bring you back home
That I will bring you back to where you belong
