1) The Weekend
From humble beginnings in the summer of 1995 when two young girls from London, Canada, Andrea Wasse (vox/guitar) and Lorien Jones (vox/bass) found kindred spirit Lincoln Cushman (keyboards) wandering the streets, The Weekend’s reason for existence has been to rock the tired masses. The Weekend's self-titled debut full-length record, produced by Andy Magoffin at the House of Miracles, contained ten sensational gems that did just that. The Weekend’s fresh-faced approach, infectious vocal harmonies, sweet keyboards, crunchy guitar and heartstring tugging lyrics have become a beacon of rock hope in this era of bland music saturation.
“The Weekend” spent 16 weeks in the Top Ten radio charts for Campus Radio nationwide which led them to opening for such notable acts as Green Day, Matthew Good Band, Big Sugar, 54:40 and Default. Their music has been featured on television in episodes of “Family Law,” Mary-Kate & Ashley Olson's “So Little Time”, and the CBC series “Our Hero.” The Weekend’s pop rock candy floss flavored sound has made them one of the most popular independent bands in the country, being featured on CBC Radio's “Just Concerts” along with radio and websites around the world. In 2001, MGM Distribution released their debut album domestically in Australia, and there are plans to tour “down under” this fall.
2) The Weekend is also the name of the now defunct duo consisting of Abel Tesfaye (now The Weeknd) and Jeremy Rose.

Not worried about her bills
She's got those looks that could kill
And I'm staring
You make me feel like I'm 15 years old
Too scared to speak, much less let you know
All the stupid things I say to myself
So I'll just write this down
Start asking when you're around
She feels like Hollywood hills
Not worried about her bills
She's got those looks that could kill
And I'm staring
I feel so broke in New York
But I don't really care anymore
Just like the mat by her door
She'll walk on me
You make me wish that I was 18 years old
No weight to bear and everywhere to go
So I could take you anywhere that you like
The whole wide world, just you and I
So I'll just write this down
Start asking when you're around
She feels like Hollywood hills
Not worried about her bills
She's got those looks that could kill
And I'm staring
I feel so broke in New York
But I don't really care anymore
Just like the mat by her door
She'll walk on me (whoo!)
She feels like hollywood hills
Yeah she got zeroes on checks and ink on deals HUH
She's got those looks that could kill
Yeah she been steppin on my neck in six inch heels HUH
She feels like hollywood hills
Yeah she got zeroes on checks and ink on deals HUH
She's got those looks that could kill
Yeah she been steppin on my neck in six inch heels HUH
She feels like Hollywood hills
Not worried about her bills
She's got those looks that could kill
She feels like Hollywood hills
Not worried about her bills
She's got those looks that could kill
And I'm staring
I feel so broke in New York
But I don't really care anymore
Just like the mat by her door
She'll walk on me (whoo!)
The lyrics of "The Hills" by The Weekend describe the singer's attraction to a woman who exudes power and confidence. He compares her to the glamorous Hollywood hills and notes that she doesn't worry about money. She's beautiful and he can't help but stare at her. The singer also expresses feelings of insecurity, wishing he were younger without the weight of the world on his shoulders. He imagines taking her on an adventure and wanting to write down his feelings but only starts asking when she's around.
The song's message is a mix of admiration for the woman and the struggle of the singer's own feelings of inadequacy. He's drawn to her confidence but feels smaller in comparison. Despite feeling broke in New York, he doesn't care as long as he can be near her.
Overall, "The Hills" conveys the idea of being attracted to someone who seems out of your league, comparing the person to a majestic symbol of power and success.

Teacher in the hall having a convo
You said keep our business on the low-low
I'm just tryna get them chemistry notes tho
'cuz your grades are better than the whole class so
even if you scared, give me the info
When I'm done I'll bring them by your desk bro
Found out I was coming, shook your head no
Keep on tryna hide it but she won't know
I only call you when it's half past two.
The only time I can get notes from you.
I only trust them when it's chemistry, not biology.
Cuz you really suck, at biology
Yeah you really suck at biology, sorry
I'ma let you know and keep it simple,
Tryna write these quickly aint that simple
I just had two classes 'fore I saw you
So just let me copy at my tempo
Always tryna tell me "go to the labs"
But that sounds so boring, I'd need decaf
I'm just tryna stay out of remedial class
And teachers always expect for me to relapse
