Several of the new songs are really good, the problem is their soul
It happens to me that way, songs like After Hours, In Your Eyes or Heartless are even musically superior to the previous songs, but they feel like the typical song that you would hear from any other artist. All the previous ones like Wicked Games, Can't Feel My Face or the entire Starboy album feel like a bohemian singing his sorrows and joys, his emotions with some style
I guess that's how it happens, The Weeknd is already too big, the size of greats like Michael Jackson

ehh after hours is goated, a masterpiece. it's strategic to get 3-4 songs on the radio then do the rest of the album less main stream for his fans. and even After Hours the song is just a masterpiece.@@armandoventura9043

How can you say After Hours sounds like another artists song (which it doesn't) but then go ahead and use Can't Feel My Face as an example which is one of his most pop and MJ inspired singles ever? After Hours is one of the most raw and vulnerable songs Abel has ever made, Abel has never faltered in showing his soul through his music, from House of Balloons all the up to present and you can argue Abel is only getting better with his style, not getting worse.@@armandoventura9043
