The band was fronted by John Denney with his brother Dix on guitar, bassist Dave Trout, drummer Nickey "Beat" Alexander and another guitarist Cliff Roman. They were originally an art-rock band formed in 1976, and were featured in a news article featuring punk rock groups in Time magazine and so it stuck. They had a very strong D.I.Y. ethic. They dressed in anything they could get their hands on; bags, straps, chains, etc. David Horvitz is noted as having calling the band's fashion "Changes quicker than a cheetah."

They broke up in 1981, but reunited at various times, including to record the 1990 album Condor. A 2004 reunion includes in the band's lineup Circle Jerks bassist Zander Schloss.

I can relate to Charlotte so much ,I was the "fat girl" in both primary and high school, they called me piggy and made fun of me on a daily basis , it hacked at my self esteem , it partly led to me almost developing an eating disorder and made me feel so worthless I nearly committed suicide Many of those kids that bullied me all ended up dropping out of school or just made school

That makes me sad and angry. I was a weird really small kid, very nerdy. But I didn't get bullied. I hope you are well and thriving now. I have met people who admit they were bullies in high school and they don't seem ashamed. These types of people are missing a compassion gene.

I’m overweight but never got bullied until I changed schools, some kid tried to bully me but found out quickly that I’m not someone that he can walk over. This bully called me a big fat pig and I smacked his face so hard, he started crying.

I wasn't as bullied in HS, but I was overweight, talked about, and wasn't exactly asked out or invited to parties. I also kept telling myself each yr was going to be different. But no matter what I did or how I dressed, it never changed. That was all the way back in 1997 - 2001. With social media it's so much worse today!

I just subscribed...These videos you show are fantastic and should be shown in every single school across the country. I'm 57 yrs old and have a 31 yr old son. I raised him on my own all of his life. He was bullied from Pre-K to the 6th grade in middle school by a "well known bully" according to the assistant principal at the time my son was in 6th grade. One day, going to lunch, my son and his class were waiting to get lunch, the bully comes up and slams my son into the wall hurting my son's back. My son stood there, face was stone cold and he balled up his fist and cold cocked him right in the jaw. That bully had been bullying my son from Pre-K up to 6th grade in middle school and my son had had enough. From what I learned from my son and the other students they were proud of my son. They were shocked and my son just stood there, without saying a word and then reached down and helped the bully up and he looked like he saw a ghost when he looked at my son...He apologized for all those years of bullying my son. My son forgave him...They're best friends since that day and are 31 yrs old and are wise beyond their years. He treats my son like a brother. Their girlfriends are just as proud of them as I am. My son thought he would get in trouble, I said no you won't, I don't condone violence, I said but, I won't have you stand there and not defend yourself, which is exactly what you did. I'm so proud of the man that I raised, proud of the man he's become...As a single parent I'm proud of myself, I too was bullied in school, I was the shy, smart fat girl whose dad was chief of police and this video in particular brought those memories back. Did I cry? You bet I did, but I don't regret one single minute of it. It taught me how to stand up for myself, defend myself and not be so shy. From the time I graduated high school in 1983 until now, at 57 yrs old, I'm blunt honest and stand up for myself and others and that shy little girl that I was has blossomed into a strong woman who doesn't take anything from anyone and I also lost that "fat girl" image going from a size 22 to a size 6. I did it on my own terms at my own pace in my own time. But this is not about me, my son is the best thing I've ever done in my life. My son and I are advocates against bullying. Thank you so much for this series. Adult bullies can be just as bad if not worse. I have experienced this first hand. People even going so far as to bully me in regards to my Children and Grandchildren. I will never forget a female adult bully at my Son's school years ago, verbally making fun of me for wearing white pants after Labor Day,...just unbelievable. Never attack anyone unless you are being attacked to the point of injury. Schools know this is happening and always protect the bully for fear of being sued. These kids need to be expelled. They are toxic. If you see a friend or an innocent bystander being mistreated, stand up and say something to the bully. The bully keeps doing it because they know they can.

We pulled our kids out of traditional schooling in 2018. The system is broken and the kids are cruel.
We school on-line now and are creating homeschool groups.

I've always been the big girl and got bullied and teased alot, even by teachers. There's even guys who would pretend to like me just for a joke and ask me out, then saying " gotcha, I'd never be into someone like you" type bullshit. I have a special needs child and he gets bullied. Unfortunately bullying it's all part of nature. Animals and humans do it. You're never going to get it to stop. I don't like it but I'm a realist and this is futile.

Saw what was happening then and saved me from further humiliation and embarrassment..We became friends.
I had learnt that you need to stand up for yourself regardless!! I laughed when Charlotte finally retaliated and cut the bullies hair... Kids need tools to defend themselves...communication skills. A No- Bullyimg programme in schools and Teachers who follow through..
Violence is not the answer..I did'nt go to school to hurt someone..I went to learn.

I was treated harshly in school because of my height one day I just got tired of it and went up to them and intimidated them they never spoke to me again sometimes you got to stand up for yourself anyways you normally wouldn't to get pieces of shit like that out of your life

Most schools refuse to admit that the horrible practice happens in their schools. I have been trying to get some attention from various schools in UK and South Africa about telling my story but not a single one has bitten the bullet and stepped forward. They would rather get some pointless learned person to give a statistical viewpoint on how to treat bullying and not let learners hear first hand stories.

I was bullied like this because of my overweight, but not physically though, but they talking Ill about me and spread rumors that never is true. And what troubles me is that nobody believes me, and those girls had luck on their sides. It hurts my self esteem so much that I became highly sensitive. Yet now IDGAF whenever somebody points out my weight. Because I love who I am. And that's what matters.

That reminds me of my past at my school days I was being bullied mentally and physically someone throw a firecracker at my head when I was 10 years old everyone laughed at me they told me I deserved this even though I have done nothing to them ,I was minding my own business they started of by framing me by stealing stuff ,manipulating me,saying mean and hurtful words, even my English teacher from outside school he used to call me by mean words and wished for my death ,he told me he wanted me dead by several ways car accident ,train crash, or plane crash all of these pain and suffering because I was kind and I repayed my kindness with pain but I snapped at all of them my classmates and my English teacher ,I finally got revenge for what they did to me all these years

Being bullied is not fun. I entered the US Army after high school weighing 122 pounds and was bullied by my older brother up until a few months before. What made him stop? I did. With a heel of palm strike to his solar plexus. That January I had started studying Tang Soo-Do and that day when I went home after school I was not in a good mood and when I walked into the kitchen he was there and started trying to hit me when he saw me. As I blocked his blows I kept telling him to stop and after one blow I struck. Once. When he went back he bounced off the stove which was preheating for our sister to put in biscuits. At the time he weighed about twice as much as I did and never tried that again. Several years later just before I got out of the Army there was an idiot who thought he could bully me until I got in face and I don't think he was expecting that from the look on his face. I'm 5 feet 7 inches and he was close to 6 feet tall. Oh, I should also mention on my first tour in South Korea I continued to study Tang Soo-Do and went to Yudo class and on my second tour I studied Hap Ki-Do and combined them when I sparred.

Bullying is less a matter of the bullies' "troubled home life" (real or imagined) and more a matter of bigotry. It's like all the other -isms and -phobias out there. The target's demeaned or hurt not due to any deliberate hurting, harming or degrading of others but simply because plus-sized, "loser", "freak", etc. is seen as an irritating, annoying, or otherwise unappeaing traits. In the 80s & 90s the same level of contempt was directed against LGBTQ+ and others. If that era's mainstream proved so wrong about devaluing LGBTQ+, how can I trust the mainstream to be right about demeaning "freaks", plus-size, "losers", etc?

I’m not overweight but, I get picked on by boys/ girls as I just moved to a new school. They think it’s ‘funny’ to do it in-front of there friends. I just can’t deal with them anymore, they do so much to me and it gets too much. They also take pictures of me and write horrible stuff all over them. (mostly girls) Wish they would honestly leave me alone(i don’t even know what i have ever done to them🤷‍♀️)

Me 2, 4 the first time I see these videos. There so under rated. And a1000 times better than other videos from what I have seen. And I love Charlotte. Am a victim of being bullied .I was bullied in my primary school . This girl always came to me during break time and she took my lunch box and money just in the name of her accusing me of beating her sister and if I didn't give my money and freedom foodstuffs, she would report me to her parents and this always scared me and ended up giving her all my eats and money.
This went on for 3years.till I involved my mom and big sister and they helped out till the girl stopped bullying me. So I feel what Charlotte goes through everyday .🥺

I was bullied in grade school i should say i was tormented. I had to walk to and from school i got jumped on a daily basis. When the teacher would leave the class they attacked me. Stabbed me with pencils, smashed chairs or books over my head. I vowing to have children only if i could afford private schooling for my children.

Very good show and regards to bullying but I cannot show this to my grandchildren because of the swearing I wanted to share this with them but as a Christian the swearing is not a good thing to hear. I believe you still would have made your point even without the swearing. Thank you and God bless.

Whether or not you show this to your grandchildren, they will already be around swearing because of other people. It would help them a lot if you can share this message about bullying with them, but also explain how you feel about swearing. As they grow up, they will meet many people who swear, but teaching them to avoid swearing can come between your grandchildren being able to make a meaningful connections with other people simply because they are afraid of hearing certain words.

Jesus did not only spend time with people who spoke with grace or acted with grace. He spent time with those who needed to connect, who needed support, who needed love and kindness!

It is always so lovely to know that there are grandparents who cherish their grandkids like you do.

I was bullied for years at school(UK), when I left school at 16, decided I would never be bullied again so took up Martial Arts, Karate and Wing Chun, never been bullied again, never having to use what I was taught, Martial Arts gives you the inner confidence.....now 60 writing a screenplay about being bullied...Peace

I hate bullies but like at the same time I have kind of a problem with the new body positivity movement. I think people are taking it wrong. Bullying is not the answer to any problem. The problem I have with the movement is that overweight people is getting rewarded for being fat and that has a tendency to lead them to think that they are good as they are. Obesity is an illness it’s really bad for you, even if you have bad metabolism it’s curable. I think we should encourage weight loss instead.
