Maybe We'll Make a Plan
The Wet Secrets Lyrics

Lately
You don't have time for me
You don't have time for me
It would seem

Well maybe
I can try to find a way
I am going to find a way
That we both can live the dream
We never had to console
We never had to console one another
But now I know that one us might go
Before the other

This life
Is too big for the both of us
Is too big for the both of us
To contain anymore
And I know one day what's in store

A harsh light
Shining up inside my eyes
Shining up inside my eyes
And that song it ain't right
The dream is dead
When the dreamers die

We never had to console
We never had to console one another
But now I know that one us will go
Before the other
Unless we make a plan

Maybe we'll make a plan

When my father entered his end-of-life phase, I spent 3 weeks back in the home town. Throughout the 2 weeks I sat next to his deathbed and the  week I spent  following his death, this song played over and over in my mind. I have suspect that the writer's intention was to write some sort of creepy murder-suicide thing, but for me this song will always be about the temporary nature of all relationships, no matter how solid, and the importance of not taking your loved ones for granted. because someday that relationship will inevitably end. Boy will lose girl. Girl will lose boy. Sons will lose fathers. friends will lose friends. so we need to consciously make plans and live our relationships deliberately, because someday they will inevitably be over.
