For Me
The Wilds Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Thanks for helping me out
All my friends that have been around
For awhile
Thanks for helping me out
And that's why I
Pull from bottle
When it comes around
No future rut
Could ever change
What we've done
Basement nights
With warm beer
Pool table lights
Clouded up by
Smoke from
Some new heads
From across the town
And state lines
They love the sound
Of people
Laughing
I can't blame them
I take my share and
Pass it on
And tonight
We'll feel right so
Thanks for helping me out
All my friends that have been around
For awhile
Thanks for helping me out
And that's why I
Pull from bottle
When it comes around
No future rut
Could ever change
What we've done
Go spread some love
We're sitting outside
We're sharing fire
In our hands
The sun's hot
With all my friends
By my side
Yeah I couldn't wish things
Were better
Than right now
If the time came
We're good to go
We'd fly out
Like eagles
We were born to soar
And tonight
We feel right at home so
Thanks for helping me out
All my friends that have been around
For awhile
A while now
Thanks for helping me out
And that's why I
Pull from bottle
When it comes 'round
No future rut
Could ever change
What we've done
Thanks for helping me out
Everyone who held my hand
As a child
Thanks for helping me out
And that's why I
Think about those times
And I smile
Thanks for helping me out
All my friends
I know they're singing
Thanks for helping me out
Close your eyes
I know you'll feel me
Thanks for helping me out
Got me all the time
You've got me all the time
Thanks for helping me out
Thanks for helping me out
All my friends that have been around
For a while
Thanks for helping me out
And that's why I
Pull from the bottle when it comes 'round
No future rut

Will ever change
What we've done

I have to keep reminding myself of this.  It doesn't matter how unworthy I am.  He died for me.  That's how big His love is.

@jimdubya5425

Thank you for your music. I was touched deeply by this piece from the first time I heard it. I'm interested to know your opinion of this particular rendition; does it reflect what you had in mind when you wrote it? In my opinion it is quite powerful with the men's quartet harmony style. Also, having been to The Wilds and having met some of the men in this recording, I am deeply moved by it. Have you ever been to The Wilds?
