DJ Touché now goes by the pseudonym Fake Blood and makes up one half of the The Black Ghosts (the other member coming from the now defunct electronic group Simian). Regal has released some solo material since 2006. Over the years, talk of a reunion have long endured, and fans don't count the group out just yet.

The Wiseguys's song “Ooh La La” is a classic example of the big beat genre popular in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The lyrics are relatively simple, with the chorus repeating the phrase "ooh la la" while urging listeners to "zoom" and "turn it out." The opening line "Come on, come on, come on" sets the tone of the song as an infectious dance track with an electrifying beat.
One interpretation of the lyrics is that the song is about letting loose and dancing without restraint. The repeated phrase "ooh la la" can be seen as an expression of excitement and pleasure, while the instruction to "do a jive" reinforces the idea of dancing. The lines "Say ho, ho" can be interpreted as a call-and-response with the music, inviting listeners to join in the fun.
Another interesting point to note is that the song heavily samples a track called "The Velvet Undergound" by The Velvet Underground. The sample plays during the chorus and is one of the defining features of the song. The use of this sample is an example of the big beat genre's tendency to use eclectic and diverse musical sources, often mixing rock, funk, and electronic music.

Remember this song from back in the day. A song where the lyrics don't mean much and don't need to 😁

Last week, Canadian Disney started carrying Malcolm in the Middle. While bingeing the 1st season, there was an episode featuring a montage, where Lois was trying to break the kids (S1E2) . The scenes, starting 5m30s in, where she was applying her various stressors, featured this song as background music. I immediately ran it through SoundHound (something I couldn't do 20 years ago) and so here I am, 2 decades late to the party, lol.
The song is now in my YT music folder, as well as on several of my Spotify playlists, while I'm having a blast checking out the rest of the Wiseguys' content, as well as those of analogous groups that Spotify is suggesting, all thanks to some unknown music director picking this tune as a perfect backdrop to a 20 year old sitcom's scenes.
Truly a Golden Age, lol.

Yep, I was born in the perfect generation to discover.
