Rewind
The Wrights Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
To when you were mine
Who knows what old feelings
We might find
Rewind, get it on track
Move it on down the line
Let me love you one more time
Yesterday we left so much behind
Such a love I’ve never known the kind
Rewind, get it on track
Move it on down the line
Let me love you one more time
Rewind, baby rewind
This old world‘s been
Spinning way too fast
Let’s stop right here
And make the moment last
Rewind, take it on back
To when you were mine
Who knows what old feelings
We might find
Rewind, get it on track
Move it on down the line
Let me love you one more time
Rewind, baby rewind
Let me hold you one more time
Rewind, baby rewind
Let me love you one more time
Rewind, baby rewind
The Wrights' "Rewind" is a heartfelt ballad about longing for a past love and wishing to relive the memories and feelings that were once shared. The lyrics speak about wanting to go back in time and rediscover the emotions and connection that once existed between two people who were once in love. The first and last verse repeat the phrase "Rewind, take it on back, to when you were mine" over a gentle melody, emphasizing the theme of wanting to return to a previous time. The lyrics also mention the fast pace of the world today and the desire to slow down and savor the moment, highlighting the need for human connection and the value of love.
The song's melancholy tone is captured in the use of slow, sad melodies and the repetition of the refrain "Rewind, baby rewind." The Wrights' smooth vocal harmonies add to the bittersweet nostalgia of the song, evoking feelings of loss and longing. The song's simple yet powerful message has resonated with many listeners, as it speaks to the universal experience of love, loss, and the desire to revisit the past.
