TWS have not looked back from that moment. They have enjoyed performances across the continent, from folk festivals to concert halls to full symphonic backing, they have been on national and international TV and radio shows, they have five recordings, three Juno nominations, three videos (all of which received full play on CMT) and Best Group award in the folk category of the Prairie Music Awards. They have also been included on numerous compilations and have been hired to write and record theme music for video and TV shows. Much of their music, such as 'Warrior', 'The Faucet', 'Farewell to Clayoquot Sound' and 'Leave a Little Light' has been covered, recorded and sung by performers and choirs from across the globe.
The Wyrd Sisters have, like any family (and long time band), changed and evolved and grown over the years. Original founding member, principal writer and lead stage personality Kim Baryluk has remained the constant thoughout the band's existence. Like groups such as 'Sweet Honey in the Rock' and 'The Flirtations,' where members have come and gone over the decades, the band continues to create the same beautiful music and carry the same inspirational message as it always has.
International critics have recognized the original sound The Wyrd Sisters have created with a fusion of folk/jazz/pop/blues as being a uniquely Canadian sound which sets the standard for up and coming singer/songwriters.

the highway's slipping by
there's an old house in the field
and dark clouds in the sky
there's no one on this road but me
and my AM radio
searching for the CBC
just tell me where I'm going
my hands are on the wheel
my eyes are on the past
and that old house is standing there
'cause it was built to last
and I'm looking for a god
and I'm looking for a sign
and I am wishing I was not alone
along this passing line
Elaine says grace is god
and god is everywhere
a turning point in time
or a stillness in the air
but all my choices made
were carefully considered
each decision weighed
and dutifully delivered
Elaine says god is grace
and grace is everywhere
the moment we forgive
or the silent breath of prayer
and I'm searching for a sign
and I'm searching for a trace
on a highway outside Winnipeg
I'm going to find some grace
The Wyrd Sisters’ song "God" is an introspective journey through the mind of the singer who is driving down a highway outside Winnipeg. As the highway slips by, the singer reflects on their past, their choices, and their search for God. They pass by an old house that is standing there because it was built to last, and dark clouds gather in the sky. The singer is alone and searching for a sign of God. They are listening to the CBC on their AM radio and looking for guidance.
The singer’s search for God is a nuanced one. Elaine, someone the singer knows, believes that grace is God and that it is everywhere. The singer contemplates Elaine’s ideas and compares them to their own experiences. All their choices have been carefully considered, weighed, and delivered. Ultimately, the singer is searching for a trace of grace, a sign to give them hope and strength to carry on the journey.
The Wyrd Sisters’ "God" is a poignant song that speaks to the universal human experience of searching for something greater than oneself. The song is a delicate balance between introspection and exploration of ideas. The singer is searching for meaning and purpose in their life, and the song is a reflection of their journey.

54:01 I don't know why, but the Fool's Guild is my favourite joke. I wish we could hear the other chants, but the first one is hilarious:
"As for my mother-in-law,
I'm not saying she is fat,
But when she bendeth over,
There occureth an eclipse in Lancre."
And then the beginning of the last chant:
"There were these three fellows in Ye Mended Drum..."

Yeah, there is nothing like him. Shame I would love to see more of his writing style in other authors. Most author, filmmakers or screenwriters keep worry about offending someone.
