In one way or another, all three of The Yardbirds' key guitarists were involved with "Heart Full Of Soul". Although it is Beck that plays on the song, the U.S. single was released with a picture sleeve erroneously showing the Eric Clapton lineup. A March 1968 appearance on the music show Upbeat featured the final lineup with Jimmy Page miming to the record.
"Heart Full of Soul" appears on the 1965 compilation album Having a Rave Up.

Deep in dark despair
Thinking one thought only
"Where is she, tell me where?"
And if she says to you
She don't love me
Just give her my messageTell her of my plea
And I know
Well, if she had me back again
Oh, I would never make her sad
I've got a heart full of soul
And I know
If she had me back again
Oh, I would never make her sad
I've got a heart full of soul
She's been gone such a long time
Longer than I can bear
But if she says she wants me
Tell her that I'll be there
And if she says to you
She don't love me
Just give her my message
Tell her of my plea
And I know
Well, if she had me back again
Oh, I would never make her sad
I've got a heart full of soul
"Heart Full of Soul" by The Yardbirds is a song about heartbreak and longing. The opening lines of the song aptly describe the sadness and despair of the singer, who is deeply in love with someone who has left him. The singer's thoughts are consumed with finding this person and wondering if she still loves him. The chorus repeatedly emphasizes the singer's desire to be reunited with his former love, and his willingness to do whatever it takes to make her happy and never cause her sadness again. The singer's strong emotions are reflected in the haunting melody and powerful vocals.
The verses of the song convey a sense of resignation and sadness, while the chorus is more upbeat and hopeful. Overall, the song's lyrics suggest that the singer is willing to forgive and forget the past in order to be with his beloved once again. Despite the singer's heart full of soul, he can't help feeling a sense of sadness and despair without his former love.

Might be their greatest, but here is a list you can consider:
1 Smokestack Lightning (best version and 100x better than Howlin Wolf's lame original. Sure, it's remarkable for its time) .And Some lists don't even have this song in the top 20. That's nuts.
2 Heart Full of Soul (next two by Graham Gouldman)
3 for your love (anyone who doesn't see why Heart Full of Soul is a smidgen better is nuts.)
4 5 6 7 8 9 Over under sideways down I'm not talking
Mr youre a better man (a bit preachy but a fine song)
