It is interesting to see the deleted scenes, taken from this part of the movie. In the extended version, Jack has to work pretty hard to gain the crowd’s attention. This part shows Ed Sheeren’s character (Ed Sheeren) to display what a kind, and empathetic person he is.
Actually, there are a lot of great scenes cut from the movie, however if they were left in, it would have really changed the story’s characters. 🤪🥁😻🗝🎸

Since The Beatles played a major part in influencing people back in the 1960s, causing a major impact on the breaking up of the U.S.S.R., I think it would have made more sense if it was still the U.S.S.R.

It wouldn't of really affected the breakup. The USSR mainly broke up due to economic problems and lack of stability. These may have been partly because of the Beatles effect on the Russian youth, but they weren't the only musicians or influences on western influences on the Russian youth.

This is a universe where the Beatles didn’t exist, there is literally a creative vacuum in that world, all the songs, even their worst ones will still have the same effect as the great ones cuz no one has ever heard it before, in history, so they will react to it as well as they did as Jack is filling the void

I was at the actual concert that's depicted in this movie (Ed Sheeran in Moscow) and it was a little bigger than this, a football stadium instead of a tiny club :)

The reason why I love this movie is because there are so many questions and theories behind it.

-What If Ed knew that the Beatles existed and he constintaly questions jack about the song writing as you saw here.

-What if the whole thing was a dream. Your favorite band becomes in existant. You randomly meet Ed Sheeran and become famous and in any fairytale ending, you give up a lie for love.

Ed Sheeran never heard of the USSR. He thought it was a reference to where Jack was born. More proof that this is an alternate reality that differs by far more than the lack of Beatles.

@Aiden Booksmith it doesn’t have the great piano, the other guitars or drums. Without them it’s just a dude singing a song about Soviet era USSR 20 some years after it collapsed. I don’t think stadiums of people would go see that.

I think it does exist but in a shorter period of time wuth ed sheeran saying :"its collapsed before you were born" and after several research i discovered that jack was born in 1990 so instead of collapsing in 1990 the ussr must have collapsed early in this universe in the 70s or 80s under the western pressure or whatever

The USSR existed, but had already broken apart as it has in this universe. That's why the comment about it breaking up before he was born. So it did exist years in the past, but no longer existed at the time he was singing the song. It was now Russia, not the USSR because the various republics had already broken away and were independent states.

@Slackow Yesterday did it better. Groundhog Day was good, but for my money, this was the better "day" movie. At least he has someone to talk to, so we don't get completely stressed with him. It's also easier to progress when things are actually changing around you instead of staying on the loop.

This movie is so dumb. I love the Beatles, one of the greatest bands of all time, but he wouldn’t become a superstar with these songs, his peak would be a decently popular indie star. Ed Sheeran got famous off of writing for other people, if all of his songs were confined to ones written by the Beatles he wouldn’t have gotten nearly this far and it wouldn’t have happened nearly this fast. Ik it’s a movie, but if it’s supposed to be a love story, it fails. If it’s supposed to be a compelling fantasy, it fails. If it is an excuse to make a bunch of downgraded Beatles covers with a convoluted plot, it works ig.

Not likely, The Beach Boys were more of a company boy band. They weren’t allowed to make their own music and they needed to do things a certain way. When The Beatles became popular, companies wanted to hop on the rock and roll wagon so they just created your run of the mill bands. Meanwhile The Beatles weren’t a company band. They had the freedom to make their own songs and they did what they wanted. So I can only guess The Beach Boy wouldn’t of existed without them.
