As a musician the realism of that scene is mind blowing. It's insanely eerie to watch a scene that has happened to you times and times again in real life down to the 'can you play another bit' quip. Am ashamed to say that never feeling as brave as this lad often I have decided to put down my guitar play it cool saying that I'll play later but secretly hurting at the total disrespect that led me to stop wanting to share a piece I was hoping to touch people's hearts with..

I definitely feel ya there. I share some of my stuff and I've literally had this happen where I'd get interrupted or someone wants to talk during it or start the dish washer or someone comes over, etc. I feel like they are just being kind enough to watch or listen on something I've been working on forever.

unfortunately my fellow human, you did not make let it be. So to be fair sure you mighta had a chance but nothing you would have made would be in the realm of let it be and thats something you just have to know by now. Let it be is a damn near universally known piece across every continent and thats alright that u didnt make something that close. But i agree more people should listen to indie music regardless of it is let it be or not

Damn. I didn't realize how much I related to this scene until reading someone else say it. People don't realize the courage it takes to play for people. It reminds me of a video of Joshua Bell, one of the best Violin players of our time, playing a stradivarius, busking in a crowded subway station. Everyone just walking by and not realizing what was happening in-front of them.

Honestly, this scene sort of captures one of the sadder realities of creating art (even though he didn’t create Let It Be, the point’s still there).
You put your heart into it, you spend countless hours on it, it means something deep to you and you have a feeling could mean something deep to someone else, too.
And often, even those closest to you are, at best, passingly interested.
It’s as funny as it is bordering on tragic, really!

@dreamsofabutterfly I never actually thought of it in this specific term... Thanks!

I mean, not everyone is invested in the kind of art that you make, it's about finding where you belong or at least to what is closest to what you enjoy. It still is infuriating to see that passing interest in people

I think this goes one step further. Its something he's passionate about AND he knows it's one the greatest songs composed, of all time. I mean, sure I was full of emotions when I wrote my poems, but I doubt they'll live beyond my lifetime, let alone be recognized by the masses!
