Phil
The Youth And Young Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Hello sir
I'm searching for a young bloke named Phil Madden
Just tell him that I happen to be the illest chap rappin
I'm mad and frustrated cause it's him I can't reach
This guy's wowzers
All mouth, no trousers
He pounds the best beats but I can't get in touch
Need to find his house
To get him out his big girl's blouse
I'm looking for a spouse with whom to share my rhymes
And UK's more liberal than America all the time
Need his co-sign and agreement to help me shine
And bring forth this little little little light of mine
I've been given
Cause it's my mission
And I be spittin
Any advice on where this guy Phil be livin
Of course sir
In fact I'll even leave you a rhyme
He's not from London town
But Newcastle upon Tyne
You'll have to take the train about three hours north
From King's Cross Station
Harry Potter fans be congregatin and waitin
But please don't be like them
And run your head into the same wall again and again
Simply, walk around
To win this game that you're in
Hopefully you find Phil and you become famous friends
If not he'd be a lie to say you didn't try
Being unavailable
He passed on millions
I, don't think he'd take kindly to that
But think guy

If you can't get hello
You must say goodbye

Overall Meaning

The Youth And Young's song "The Spirit of Man" is a tragic tale of a parson named Nathaniel, who witnesses the invasion of Martians on Earth during a time of great despair in society. The song begins with Nathaniel stumbling upon a ruined churchyard, where he finds himself burying a fellow parson. As he and his wife Beth try to retreat from the danger surrounding them, Nathaniel's relentless belief that the Martians are emissaries of Satan only increases. Despite Beth's attempts to convince him otherwise, Nathaniel becomes increasingly fixated on the fact that the apocalypse has arrived, with Martians being the agents of destruction.

By the end of the song, Nathaniel is convinced that he must confront the Martians and cast them out with his prayers and holy cross, leading to the ultimately tragic end of his story. The lyrics are poignant in their portrayal of a man's descent into madness and despair, refusing to see hope and light even in the face of darkness.

The song's title, "The Spirit of Man", is a reference to the idea that there is something within humanity that allows for hope and resilience. Beth echoes this sentiment in her plea for Nathaniel to recognize that there must be more to life than the apocalyptic narrative that he has created.

Overall, "The Spirit of Man" is a powerful commentary on the dangers of dogmatic thinking and the importance of remaining hopeful in the face of adversity.

In the darkness I could see the claw touching things, walls, coal, wood. And then, it touched my boot. I almost shouted. For a time it was still, and then, with a click, it gripped something: the parson! With slow, deliberate movements, his unconscious body was dragged away, and there was nothing I could do to prevent it.

Here is a fun historical fact that not a lot of people know Russia and England could of become one country Ivan the terrible proposed the idea to Queen Elizabeth the first of them getting married

@BackToHistoryYT

Fascinating to think, what have might been

@marcusaurelius9577

@@BackToHistoryYT indeed how much history would’ve changed I could honestly see a world war of France and Austria forming an alliance against Russia England and

since Prussia wouldn’t exist because the Russians would’ve gotten rid of them in the 1700s Austria would have united Germany and kept their Italian territories as well

Iran Afghanistan huge parts of China would be ruled by the Russian British empire not including the parts of the Middle East with the destruction of the ottoman empire so much history would’ve changed

@NunyaDammeBiznis

What a couple they would have made

@mediocremaiden8883

I thought that was pretty well known from the Elizabeth:The Golden Age film..However, the Elizabeth films are crazy inaccurate.
