She's Coming Home
The Zombies Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I saw her walking out the other day
I thought my love for her
Had gone away

Well I remember
How I loved her so
(Baby come on home)
My solitude tells me she could, no

But she said what to me
She's coming home
And so I'll cry no more
I'll dry my tears

She's coming home to me
She's coming home to me

I thought the words of love we used to say
Were lost to time
Oh baby, baby, baby
I'll be good to you
If you would only try again to love me too
Our love was such a sweet and gentle thing
I threw our love away
With I thought...

But she said what to me
She's coming home
And so I'll cry no more
I'll dry my tears

She's coming home to me
She's coming home to me

But she said what to me
She's coming home
And so I'll cry no more
I'll dry my tears

She's coming home to me

She's coming home to me
She's coming home to me, oh

This is a cool song. I love the intro. The picture cover had a red background. What memories.

@jhowardduff692

You are correct! I know because I still have the 45rpm in the picture cover. Great song, great band!

At a recent concert, Argent and Blunstone mentioned the Brenda Holloway version, and how much they loved it. It is only on You Tube. Brenda did great cuts for Motown, being the only artist on their roster based out of LA, circa 1965-1968. All of her Motown stuff is available on CD, except "He's Coming Home".

@mshow81

Spent 6 weeks in Billboard's Hot 100 in the spring of 1965, but got no higher than #58.
