This song is about the yearning to break free from the confines of the ordinary world and discover oneself. The first stanza vividly depicts the singer's desire to fly by comparing themselves to the birds that wheel hard across the sky, bathed in starlight. I’ve been listening to The music of CB for what must be 30 years. I can’t say that his voice gets better but I can say that he has done a great job in preserving it. I read that he works very hard at vocal exercises to slow down the inevitable effects of age.
