The band formed in Liverpool, England in 2001, taking their name from Magic Band guitarist Bill Harkleroad, better known as Zoot Horn (or "Zuton") Rollo. With all the members being Liverpudlian, this led to comparisions with The Coral, especially as both bands were signed to the same record label - Deltasonic - and had the same producer - Ian Broudie. Their debut album - Who Killed The Zutons? - was released on October 18th 2004, and reached number 9 in the UK album chart.

I can't get this pressure point out of my head
I feel it in work, you know, I feel it in bed
I can't get this pressure point out of my head
I've paid all my bills and I've acted so well
Ain't been cheating, there's nothing to tell
So why all this pressure, I don't understand
I call on my neighbours, and lend them a hand
Doctor, oh doctor, I'm willing to learn
Well all of my bones, well they toss and they turn
Mother, oh mother, I'm begging you please
To rid me of madness and cure this disease
(?) told you what I have become
With all of this pressure, my mind's on a run
(?) changing, let's hope for the best
Maybe it's something to get off my chest
Doctor, oh doctor, I'm begging you please
To rid me of madness and cure this disease
Mother, oh mother, I'm willing to learn
Well all of my bones, well they toss and they turn

The Zutons' "Pressure Point" is a song that explores the sense of anxiety and stress that can stem from various sources in life. The repeated refrain of "I can't get this pressure point out of my head" emphasizes the constant presence of this anxiety. The song starts with the singer expressing confusion about the source of this pressure, stating that they have paid their bills and acted responsibly. However, the singer still feels the pressure, and they turn to others for help, seeking guidance from a doctor and their mother.
The second verse introduces the idea that the singer may have changed in some way, but they are not sure what that is. Nevertheless, they hope for the best and plan to reveal whatever is on their mind in order to alleviate the pressure. The song returns to the refrain, repeating "pressure" over and over again, highlighting the intensity of the distress.
This song resonates with anyone who has experienced anxiety and stress, especially when it feels unexplainable or unfounded. It's a reminder that seeking help and support from others can be critical in managing these emotions.
