The Wipers’ song “Over the Edge” is a very straightforward and honest take on the singer’s frustration with someone or something that seems to be holding him back. The first verse starts with a statement that “It’s not the truth I see / It’s just a mockery” which refers to the fact that there are lies, facades, and illusions all around him, and he is not going to waste his time trying to decipher them. The second line of the same verse “Don’t need to waste my time” indicates the feeling of frustration and disappointment that has built up to a point where he doesn’t see the point of continuing to engage with whatever it is that is causing him trouble.
