1) The And were a delightful 1980s pop/new wave band. This fivesome from Madison, WI fulfills the request in spades with their up-tempo superficial new wave synth pop tunes.

2) The And is a young alternative poprock band from the Hague, Holland, in the 60´s home town of famous artists like Shocking Blue, Q65 and The Golden Earrings but also Anouk, Kane & Di-rect took a walk on the beach sometime dreaming of surfing high on the unpredictable waves of rock. Mark my words, within two years you can add The And to your list of favourite Dutch bands. Why? At this moment they are working on their debut album in the Sounds Interesting studio of Gruppo Sportivo´s famous antihero Hans Vandenburg, who also has been bandcoaching them over the last year.

In the twinkling of an eye
There came a revelation
And wouldn't you know
Fate dealt the blow
And changed my destination
Falling, Struck down, Struck down
My eyes opened, hopin'
When love came calling
We've been working in the dark
Building Noah's ark
Forty days and forty nights the flood waters risin'
Two by two by two
Two by two by two
Hand in hand we watch for land on the horizon
The And's song Noah's Ark tells a story about a revelation that changed the destiny of the singer. The opening lines, "Like a bolt from the sky, in the twinkling of an eye, there came a revelation" suggests a sudden realization that altered the course of the singer's life. However, this realization came at a great cost, as the next line says, "And wouldn't you know, fate dealt the blow, and changed my destination." This suggests that while the singer had an epiphany, it wasn't necessarily a positive one, and the revelation altered their life in a way that they did not expect or want.
The chorus continues to express this tension between the positive and negative aspects of the singer's newfound understanding. They sing, "Falling, struck down, struck down when love came calling. My eyes opened, hopin' when love came calling." The phrase "falling, struck down" shows the pain and struggle the singer is experiencing. Despite this, there is a sense of hope with their eyes being opened, even though it's painful to see.
The final verse changes the focus of the song to the building of Noah's Ark, a biblical metaphor for the creation of something new and the saving of what is important. The line, "We've been working in the dark, building Noah's Ark" suggests that this is a difficult task that requires perseverance and faith. The next two lines, "Forty days and forty nights, the flood waters risin'" reminds us that change and creativity can be difficult and often require endurance, but there is the hope of something better on the horizon.
