Missing

It’s not a story that I wrote
This is the fate that would unfold
I was not meant to live like this
But then again how could I’ve known
I saw you many years ago
Since then your face became unkown
From you I did not hear a word
Nor did I feel your love
When I needed you the most
You were not there on any day
My hero was not ever there
On any day, on any day
The years my hero disappeared
They told me that he would show up
I waited, waited for his call
I did not lose my faith in him
Through many empty holidays
Did not remember his own son
A man I finally became
Yet my hero never showed up
When I needed you the most
You were not there on any day
My hero was not ever there
On any day, on any day
My birthdays came and quickly went
My life achievements passed me by
I didn’t even hear your voice
Not even a letter or a call
I’m never even in your thoughts
Have you forgotten I'm still here
You didn’t even say goodbye
You walked away instead
When I needed you the most
You were not there on any day
My hero was not ever there
On any day, on any day
For my first words where were you?
You were not there
And for my first steps where were you?
You were not there
Throughout my childhood where were you?

You were not there
My entire lifetime where were you?

Overall Meaning

The xxMusicfire.in's song "Missing" seems to be a poignant commentary on the pitfalls of fame and the way it affects people, particularly young girls who idolize the singer. Throughout the song, the singer appears to be watching a girl in the audience who is crying and knows that she is "missing him" - perhaps in both a literal and metaphorical sense. The lyrics paint a picture of a girl who is too young to understand the complexities of relationships and desires, but who is still drawn to the singer and the image he represents.

The line "Well a hundred million dollars that's exactly what we want, little girls are little victims and we're always on the hunt" seems to suggest that the singer and his bandmates are pursuing fame and fortune at the expense of their young, impressionable fans. They know that the girls who come to their concerts are searching for something - perhaps validation, connection, or simply an escape from their mundane lives. And yet, the singer seems somewhat powerless to stop this cycle - he knows that the music industry is exploitative, but he also knows that he needs to make a living.

Overall, the song seems to be a poignant commentary on the darker side of fame and the way it can affect both the famous and their fans. It's a powerful reminder that the pursuit of success often comes at a heavy cost.

Just finished watching this and it was soooo good. Rarely does a movie jump out of my seat and say “holy shit” with chills down my spine, but this made me not once but multiple times. The music, the acting everything was so good. Also… (spoilers below)

When they revealed it wasn’t the mom on the plane…HOLY SHIT

@KapatidTomas

Ok just came back here after watching this movie and I want to say that on while this may not have the legendary movie or tv show status like the Last of Us tv show or any movie starring with Morgan Freeman, this thriller movie is waay better than any other typical movie released in 2023 (and of course it's way better than HBO's Velma).

Definitely rating this an 8/10 that's for sure, and for a sequel this is pretty good because I usually expect something bad out of sequels, but knowing that the writers and directors of the first movie are obviously good this may be no surprise (and this may be just me but the first movie was way more intense with the plot twists, this had it's good fair share of it but it wasn't as intense as the first movie)

So here are the things that surprised me in this movie (a few spoilers ahead so be warned):

1. The transitions on when June venmos and on when someone's taking a photo during the party are so smooth and so fast that it reminds me of an Apple commercial (because on how hyperbole Apple's commercials are and ironically she's using Apple products).

2. The first and last parts of the movie on where June and her friends talk about a Netflix docudrama series Unfiction and about the second episode of the second season in that show which the episode was about the Margots, breaks the fourth wall so much and is so uncanny, because they literally have to act out actors acting. Little do they know that June would have her own docudrama episode around the end.

3. I like on how the sequel is up to date to most of the details of the websites, OS, and apps for 2022 (and for some scenes, the old Windows Vista OS and old look of the YouTube website). Like on how there's now TikTok and that June uses the latest macOS version. And as a tech enthusiast, I appreciate the little details that the team made. The accuracies are insane.

Conclusion: Overall this movie is way better than any average hollywood movie in 2023

This movie was amazing, I give it a 9.5/10. It was intense, kept me at the edge of my seat, made me cry a lot, and the twists are soooo good. I love when movies have unexpected twists like that. And Storm Reid is incredible, she’s so talented. I love that recently she’s in both Missing and an episode of The last of us. She’s incredibly talented and an amazing actress

@jasminerodriguez8658

Yes! Just finished watching it today!

@tabitha3861

so excited to see Storm Reid in this, she's been killing it on Euphoria! also what a perfect way to do a sequel to such a one-of-a-kind film. the first one had so many twists & turns I did not see coming and it looks like this one will too. but the emotional core (a parent searching for their child/a child searching for their parent because the law let them down) is still there, just reversed.

@De7cipleOfficial

i have a crush on storm reid, ever since a wrinkle in time came out i did lol
