Baby Please Don't Go
Them Lyrics

Baby, please don't go
Baby, please don't go
Baby, please don't go down to New Orleans
You know I love you, so, baby, please don't go

Baby, your mind done gone
Well, your mind done gone
Well, your mind done gone, left the county farm
You had the shackles on; baby, please don't go
Before I be your dog
Before I be your dog
Before I be your dog to get you way down here
I'll make you walk alone; baby, please don't go, hey

Baby, please don't go
Baby, please don't go
Baby, please don't go down to New Orleans
You know I love you, so, baby, please don't go

Before I be your dog
Before I be your dog
Before I be your dog to get you way down here
Make you walk alone; baby, please don't go

Know how I feel right now?
My baby leavin' on that midnight train, and I'm cryin'

Baby, please don't go
Oh, baby, please don't go
Baby, please don't go down to New Orleans
You know I love you, so, baby, please don't go yeah

Before I be your dog
Before I be your dog
Before I be your dog to get you way down here
I make you walk alone; baby, please don't go, yeah

All right

In those days it was almost impossible to hear bad music. We were wherever we went surrounded by fantastic, exciting, enchanting music. In shops, pubs, clubs and private parties and when visiting friends. Everywhere fantastic music and completely different atmospheres. From folk to jazz, from soul to rock and so on, but always brilliant. It was pure abundance.

Yeah we had a ball for sure!

@Mike Schneider Don't know where to start. Well in 1960 ofcourse. It would take me a year of hard work to arrive at 1969.

@Roderick Maclean It's surreal. Unfortunately I was born way past those days but, thanks to the internet I can very happily relive those days. I'm currently going week by week to listen to new entries to the top 100 US charts and top 50 UK charts from 1955 to the present (Just started 1965).

~~I am just so astonished at how much good music came out immediately following Beatlemania/britpop invasion. Obviously it was evolving in Britain (And R&B bands in the US way before that) for some time beforehand but.. I am just speechless. Utterly and truthfully speechless.~~

Thank you Sam Cooke, The Zombies, Chubby Checkers, The Temptations, The Animals, Chuck Berry, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Gladys Knight, Aretha Franklin, The Kinks, The Spinners, BB King, Roy Orbison, Billy Kramer, The Honeycombs and of course Van Morrison/Them (Just got to this song.. lol) ... it's overwhelming but in the best way possible.

And this is why so many of us became rabid rockers... and still are 50 years later.  Love live rock!
