Imagine me there by your side
It's so hard to be here so far away, from you
I'm counting the days 'till
I'm finally done
I'm counting them down, yeah, one by one
It feels like forever 'till I return to you
But it helps me on those lonely nights
Knowing that you wait for me
Ever so patiently
No one else knows the feeling inside
We hang up the phone without saying goodnight
Because it's the sound of your voice that brings me home
It's never been easy to say
But it's easier when I've gone away
Knowing that you wait for me
Ever so patiently
Yeah, you're everything I've ever dreamed of having and
It's everything I need from you just knowing that you wait for me
What I'd give
What I'd do
Knowing I'm not there for you
Makes it so hard to leave
What I'd give
What I'd do
Anything to get me home to you
And this time I'll stay
And you wait for me
Ever so patiently
Yeah, you're everything I've ever dreamed of having and
It's everything I need from you just knowing that you wait for me
The lyrics to Theory of a Deadman's song "Me" seem to be about a person who feels stuck in their life while the world around them is changing. The first stanza talks about how everything is changing, but the singer is staying the same. They feel like they need to let go of what remains of their past and move on with everyone else. The world is full of pretty things, but the singer has learned to live inside the darkness.
The chorus repeats that the sun has set on the singer, implying that they feel like they are in a dark and stagnant place in their life. They can't explain their fear, and no one seems to notice or care. The singer wishes they could see someone smile before it fades away, but the light is gone, and they've learned to live in the darkness.
The second verse continues with the theme of feeling disconnected from the world around them. The singer wishes they could feel something, even if it's pain, because they feel like nothing in their life is real. The chorus repeats, emphasizing the idea that the sun has set on the singer.
Overall, the lyrics to "Me" seem to be about feeling stuck and disconnected from the world. The singer is struggling to find meaning or purpose in their life, and they feel like they are living in darkness. The repetition of the chorus emphasizes the feeling of being stuck and unable to move forward.
