Theory of a Deadman Lyrics

It's strange what desire will make foolish people do
I never dreamed that I'd meet somebody like you
And I never dreamed that I'd lose somebody like you
No, I don't want to fall in love
No, I don't want to fall in love
With you
What a wicked game you played, to make me feel this way
What a wicked thing to do, to let me dream of you
What a wicked thing to say, you never felt this way
What a wicked thing to do, to make me dream of you and
And I don't want to fall in love
No, I don't want to fall in love
With you
The world was on fire and no one could save me but you
It's strange what desire will make foolish people do
I never dreamed that I'd love somebody like you
And I never dreamed that I'd lose somebody like you
No, I don't want to fall in love
No, I don't want to fall in love
With you
(This world is only gonna break your heart)
No, I
(This world is only gonna break your heart)
Nobody loves no one
The lyrics of Theory of a Deadman's song "Wicked Game" express the idea of a tumultuous love affair. The singer describes feeling helpless as the world around them burns, but finding comfort in the person they are with. However, they also recognize that their desire for this person has led them to make foolish choices. They never expected to meet or lose someone like this person, leading them to question their own feelings. Despite their conflicted emotions, they make it clear that they do not want to fall in love with this person. The repeated phrase "No, I don't want to fall in love" emphasizes this point, expressing their attempts to resist the pull of their emotions.
The chorus shifts to focus on the other person's actions. The singer accuses them of playing a "wicked game" and leading them on. The dreamy tone throughout the song is replaced by a sense of bitterness as the singer acknowledges that they were tricked into feeling a certain way. The repeated phrase “what a wicked thing to do” further reinforces the sense of betrayal felt by the singer. The song ends on a final note of hopelessness, with the line "nobody loves no one" expressing the idea that love is ultimately futile.

Can we take a minute to just acknowledge the range that this band has? I mean they go from bad girlfriend to this and both are absolute fire!!

This song was fucking amazing, the violins were fucking amazing. I love it when rock bands use violins, and I personally would love to see more music like this
@CommunistHam
Not a rock band anymore.
@abbynormall207
There are some pretty good Irish rock bands that use violins. Some of the Metallica songs on the S&M album are good - they recorded it with the San Francisco symphony Orchestra
@thesuminidon
its not better than HIM cover, his voice lacks something for this song in particular, dont get me wrong, i like the band and ive been listening to it for a long time but this one is not good at all
@mudking1261
Absolutely love this cover!!
@cassidythecat
Starset is a good contender if you're looking for a rock band that uses violins, and they have a cellist and a violinist that tours with them
