With keen pop sensibilities, a skewed sense of humour and a willingness to draw inspiration from diverse sources (notably punk rock), Therapy? came to attention in the early 1990s rise of alternative rock, but have endured for more than a decade since; Critic Johnny Loftus writes, "After a ten-plus year career that has seen them outlast competitors and outwit industry attempts at categorization, Therapy? are still headbangers with their thinking caps screwed on tight."

Therapy? Lyrics

I'm not drunk or anything
I saw a light on in your house
Undo the chain and let me in, I want to talk
I never wanted this disease
I never wanted you to leave, hey
I never wanted this disease
It used to give me guilty thrills
Feeling in control and feeding on your innocence
I watched you torture yourself days
And fucking you got boring when it didn't feel so wrong
I never wanted this disease
I never wanted you to leave, hey
I never wanted this disease
I never wanted you, I never wanted you to leave
I can see you in my dreams
I can see you in my dreams
I can see you in my dreams
I can see you in my dreams
Let the grass grow over me
Let the grass grow over me
Let the grass grow over me
Let the grass grow over me
You watch the grass grow over me
You watch the grass grow over me
You watch the grass grow over me
You watch the grass grow over me
(I can see you in my dreams)
I never wanted this disease
(I can see you in my dreams)
I never wanted you except when you were on your knees
(I can see you in my dreams)
I never wanted this disease
(I can see you in my dreams)
I never, I never, I never wanted you to leave

The lyrics to Therapy?'s song "Me Vs You" are emotionally charged and speak to themes of regret, addiction, and longing. The singer in the song is dealing with the aftermath of a breakup, and they are attempting to make sense of their feelings and their actions.
The opening lines suggest that the singer is not in a good state of mind, but they are trying to be responsible and level-headed by coming to collect their things. However, when they see a light on in their ex-partner's home, they feel compelled to go in and talk. This could symbolize the singer's underlying desire to rekindle the relationship or to seek closure.
The next verse delves into the singer's addiction to the power dynamic they had with their ex-partner. They admit that they enjoyed feeling in control and manipulating the other person, but eventually, it became boring. The singer is struggling with their own moral compass, acknowledging that what they did was wrong, but still feels a sense of nostalgia and longing for the past.
The repetition of the phrase "I never wanted this disease" implies that the singer feels ashamed of their actions and is aware that they have caused harm. They express a regret for driving their partner away, yet still express a desire to be with them in their dreams.
Overall, "Me Vs You" is a hauntingly introspective song, exploring the inner turmoil of a character who is struggling with addiction, regret, and longing.

@MrFoofighter81 Fyfe doesn't play in a band these days. Although, after leaving Therapy he played in a band called "Divers" in the late 90's - I've uploaded two songs of theirs, "Little Less Nothing" and "Eyes on the Prize"... check 'em out!
