Perto Do Fim
Thiago Pethit Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

We´ve been in hotel rooms before.
I know much more than you can think of.
We know that I'm no good for you,
But as you said you ain't good too.

Until you start your random talk.
I know by far that you should walk on.
Well you should fly away from me.
Just like planes do over the sea.

I´ve been in hotel rooms before,
And all you can say, eu sei de cor.
Como num vôo sobre o mar,
Sempre partir, nunca ficar.

Se o mundo parece esquecer,
O que rimou 'eu com você'.

É bem melhor você sumir,
Just like planes do over the sea

Overall Meaning

These lyrics from Thiago Pethit's song "Perto Do Fim" depict a relationship on the brink of its end. The singer and his partner have been in hotel rooms together before, but he suggests that he knows more than she could even imagine. Their relationship is unhealthy and he acknowledges that he is not good for her, but she is not good for him either. He suggests that she should leave him, like planes flying over the sea.

The chorus introduces a sense of resignation, suggesting that sometimes life forgets the things that once rhymed with each other - like "eu" (I) and "você" (you). The singer feels that there is not much left to do besides giving up or insisting without a reason, which shows the frustration and complexity of their situation. The verses are explicit in their emotional rawness, detailing how the singer and his lover are feeling detached from each other, jet setting around the world, chasing thrills that are often just an escape from reality.

Overall, "Perto Do Fim" is a melancholic lament about a relationship that reached its expiration date. Its lyrics present an honest account of the tumultuous feelings that come with love and breakups, leaving listeners with a sense of emptiness and loss.

Cantores(as), bandas, intérpretes excelentes!
