Going to the studio in the spring of 1998, the band recorded their first widely released disc, A Town Like This. More live shows followed, while internal problems plagued the lineup for the next year. By 2000, the band stabilized and went back to the studio and recorded a few new songs. Peaceville was high on these tracks and used one to lead off one of their samplers, leading to an opening spot on the Peacefest tour in 2001. In the fall of that year, they finally returned to the studio for a full-length album, and put together In Therapy in the following months. A dense, electric album filled with powerful songs that bucked the symphonic tags that had often been attached to their music, it would be a bittersweet release because lineup changes again plagued the group on the eve of its release in the fall of 2002.
Feel
Thine Lyrics

I think it's near this time
But this road is sick - down on a lost hope this time
The water was cold, liquid pain twisting through my veins
I laugh, I drown
And filter out the hysterical sound
If it's how you feel - I won't tell a soul
I won't tell a soul
Alone again for what you owed me
To wake in a show-reel
Tonight I'm lost and caged in space - the longing before the low
Last time the idea was sold - the world - organic soul, the initial freakshow
And if you don't like that much, I'm sorry I'm here
And we're decaying
Losing ground fast
Reaching out again to your heartless face
You fucking pointless man
Give it a little time and a little space
Reaching out again to your heartless face
In Thine's song "Feel", the lyrics convey a feeling of uncertainty and a sense of loss. The first line "Now where do we go from here?" feels like a rhetorical question asked in order to prompt self-reflection. The phrase "I think it's near this time" suggests that the singer is waiting for some event to happen soon. However, the next phrase "But this road is sick - down on a lost hope this time" conveys a pessimistic attitude that implies that the singer doesn't have much hope for the future. The water being "cold" and "liquid pain twisting through my veins" serves as a metaphor for the emotional pain that the singer is experiencing.
The chorus goes "If it's how you feel - I won't tell a soul", which highlights the importance of respecting someone's feelings and giving them the space to feel their emotions without judgement. The lyrics "Alone again for what you owed me" and "the longing before the low" suggest that the singer has been through a similar situation before and is trying to cope with it again. The line "the world - organic soul, the initial freakshow" could refer to the chaotic nature of the world and how humans are trying to cope with it.
The repetition of the phrase "Reaching out again to your heartless face" in the last verse reinforces the feeling of desperation and ending up in a seemingly hopeless situation. The lyrics "You fucking pointless man" also suggest a sense of anger towards someone who has caused emotional pain. Overall, the lyrics convey a complex mix of emotions that everyone can relate to in one way or another.
