Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Moving On" by the band Third And Forever are about the inevitability of change and the importance of accepting it, even if we don't always know where it will take us. The repeated phrase "always moving on" reinforces this idea, and suggests that no matter how much we may want to stay in one place or hold on to the past, everything is constantly in motion and we have to move with it.

The lines "we don't see the end / 'cause we don't know the way" emphasize the uncertainty of the future, and the fact that sometimes we have to make choices without having a clear understanding of the consequences. The reference to being "blinded by the one" could be interpreted in different ways - it could refer to a person, a belief or an idea that we are devoted to, which might be holding us back or preventing us from seeing things clearly. However, the final lines - "love is here to stay / love is here to stay" - provide a hopeful note, suggesting that love can be a constant even in the midst of change and uncertainty.

Overall, "Moving On" is a reminder to embrace the present moment and keep moving forward, even when the path ahead is unclear. It acknowledges that change can be scary and difficult, but also emphasizes that we have the power to make choices and shape our own destinies.

The shittiest thing here is that the Bridgertons are pretty much "high" on the social ladder. Their words have merit. So not only did he completely break Pen's heart by laughing off the idea of courting her to his friends, he also may have ruined any potential prospects for her in said 'marriage market'. He laughs, everyone else in that group laughs...and there goes any potential suitors for Pen. Good on her for standing up for herself! I've always loved her.

@tari6085

Thank you!!! What he did in that episode was so much worse than the similar thing he did in the books because of who he was talking to, and this is exactly why!

@ellebelle03

@@tari6085 like he not only broke her heart but pretty much single-handedly destroyed her reputation all because he "would never dream" of courting her. Yes, it's sexist and it's messed up, but back then this was what happened. If someone so much as even looked at you sideways, that was it for you. Pen has every right to have this anger and disdain - and even disgust - in her eyes as she calls him out.

@tari6085

@@ellebelle03 You have to wonder if he at any point will go back to his "friends" and tell them how great she is.

@shilpavijay7490

Right ???? Colin certainly is under No obligation to reciprocate what Pen feels for Him, and that does Not excuse Him for laughing at Her behind her back. Friends don't do that.

And for People who feel that this is exactly what She does under the guise of Lady Whistledown... Lady Whistledown is a reflection of that particular Society, which is proven by the wide circulation of Her Writings. The Persona dished it right back out the way each of them were at others's throats.

@rebeccapettiford5389

Wow I didnโ€™t even think of that! Ugh. How can she ever be with such an arse?

Her pissed/disappointed/disgusted face expression the entire conversation is giving me LIFE. Finally, we here. I hope they do many scenes like this.

@pkgood9223

Right?! I loved when that quick smile at being missed gave way to all those emotions. She is fascinating to watch. Can't WAIT to see her shine even brighter in 3!

@a.dorcas7546

Like you said, hope this wasn't only a one time scene but is scattered around the whole series. Collin needs to prove he deserves Pen, and she shouldn't make it easy for him

@Breenndda

Exactly! I loved that her words wiped that smug smile on his face after he said he missed her. Was he expecting her to light up and be grateful he thought of her at all?
