They were formed in 1973 and are still releasing records today. Their lineup has changed over the years, as has their musical style, although it has not strayed too far from the "roots reggae" style that they are generally categorized as.
With Dean Pond in the touring lineup (Dean Pond, founder of Dub Mystic and one time musical director and drummer for Culture, and V.I. producer of the year) this year (??) should prove to be even bigger for Third World.

Ihighziahbhere Yihmohsgahnh, shine like a blazing fire
May the words of I and I mouth and the meditation of our hearts
be acceptable in they sight oh Jah Rastafari
King Alpha and Queen Omega
Beginning and end, Selah.
Shine like a blazing fire, shine like a blazing fire
Sing a new song in the morning Jah Jah done you no wrong
Shine like a blazing fire, shine like a blazing fire
Say Zion I awake and sing the rising sun
Just like the morning sun Lord knows we got to shine, shine, shine
It's not the love you take, it's the love you give
Got your rightful place in this earth to live
Shine like a blazing fire, shine like a blazing fire
Sing a new song in the morning Jah Jah done you no wrong
Sing a new song in the morning Jah Jah done you no wrong
Say Zion I awake and sing the rising sun
And like the birds fly free, human psychology and bad mind got to get a blow
Shine like a blazing fire, shine like a blazing fire
Say Zion I awake and sing the rising sun, zion awake and sing the rising sun

This is so great. We had some prophesy signs here in the sky followed by a dangerous storm today in Colorado. I recognized the signs and called the Hopir tribe. You can read their entrance to the pure fifth world prophesy that has to do with the appearance of God the twin mother and father returning to save the children of this world. Have been waiting to see Hess signs. And when the storm was over and the Hopi had been called, I went to the barn to check my animals and this song was playing on the radio. This is super special. I will never forget this day and always treasure this song. "SHINE LIKE A BLAZING FIRE" Jah love. Love Jah. All are Jah. Jah is all. Love is all. Peace. From a deadhead
