Superman
This Is..Love Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

what if i lie
to myself?
i bit off
more than i tell

what if the grass
stops growing green
superman, where have you been?

i don't want your
talk talk talk long
give it time
give it time
give it up

i don't want your
talk talk talk
won't give it time
give it time
give it up

i see your lines
they show your age
this day's not kind
to your face

get off my bed
put on your shoes
the world won't
turn around you

i don't want your
talk talk talk
won't give it time
give it time
give it up

i don't want your
talk talk talk
won't give it time
give it time
give it up

speak to the answer phone again
don't tell me i'm alone again
don't tell me god has gone
when i turn on the radio
i speak to the answer phone again

i don't want your
talk talk talk
won't give it time
give it time
give it up

i don't want your
talk talk talk
won't give it time
give it time
give it up

don't mirror me
if i can't stand
or walk as tall as you can

hey superman

where did you go
now that the lights have gone low

Overall Meaning

The lyrics in “Superman” by This Is..Love are open to interpretation, but at their core, they seem to be about a person who is struggling to find their place in the world and feeling let down by others. The opening lines suggest that the singer is not being entirely truthful with themselves or others, and they have overextended themselves by biting off more than they can handle.

As the song progresses, a sense of disillusionment and bitterness emerges. The singer calls out to Superman, wondering where he is and why he isn’t there to save the day. They reject the platitudes of others, tired of hearing empty words that offer no real solace or support.

The chorus carries a sense of urgency, as the singer rejects the idea of waiting around for things to get better. They want action, not words, and refuse to be held back by the inertia of those around them. If Superman isn’t going to show up and fix everything, then the singer is going to take matters into their own hands.

In the final verse, the singer seems to be grappling with feelings of isolation and despair. They reach out to an answering machine, looking for comfort or connection, but find only emptiness. The song ends on a note of uncertainty, with the singer wondering where Superman has gone now that the lights have gone low.

A Superman game could DEFINITELY WORK, Superman is one of the most compelling characters in comics

A lot of people though either say he's "bOriNg" or a "GaRy SuE"

But if Done right you could be one of THE BEST GAMES OF ALL TIME

1. GAME MECHANICS

Don't Nerf his strength, make the player😊 control it,

Make a" sweet spot "meter

too much and you could cause too much collateral damage, too little and you can't save the day

It has to be just right, 👍

Also his flying gets faster and more powerful the more you use it

At a certain point you should be able to break the sound barrier and fly to other planets and galaxies 🌌☄️🚀

2. LEVELS

There'll be three levels to game based on Clark's identity

"CLARK KENT "the reporter 👨‍🏫, "SUPERMAN" the hero 🦸, and "KAL-EL" the alien 👽

The "CLARK KENT" levels we'll have you doing regular things, but also trying to uncover lex luthor's dirty dealings, acting a detective like in the Arkham games

"SUPERMAN" levels will have you on rescue missions, stopping robberies, and battling bad guys like Metallo, the Mxyzptlk, and lobo

The" KAL-EL" levels will have you dealing space matters, fighting with enemies like BRAINIAC, DARK SIDE, and discovering the history of Krypton and interacting around in the fortress of solitude

3 STORY

What makes Superman the great character is his humanity

He's not a dark and edgy person

He's not a paragon or a Gary Sue

He has lost many battles, hasn't been able to save countless people

But He often takes time off his day to help people in the smallest way he can

He's often have to cope and control his powers,

and being The last of his kind, he is often had no one to relate to

It's only his parents that made him the man he is because they love Clark for who he was

It's the small things that matter to him the most

People in this life that make it worthwhile

That's what the game should focus on most

The wisdom and responsibility he has for his self and for others of how we can be good people is what makes Superman great

Long live the Man of steel 🦸

Man, I loved the Superman Returns game on ps2 so much. I spent hours and hours flying.
This demo really looks amazing! Too bad my PC crashed just looking at the video...

😅

Steel 101

I really had fun with the flight controls in Superman returns but I didn’t finish it because I was really confused of how the game worked. I didn’t know how to progress in the main story. Lol 😆

Eric The Guapo

I did the same thing. Just flew around for hours.

Try a game called megaton rainfall thank me later

Finally someone points out that there was a good Superman game. Honestly, imo that game is to Superman what Spider-Man 1 is to Spider-Man. A first step, that, if iterated upon could make an amazing sequel. But since Superman Returns flopped we didn't get a sequel.

If they ever do it right, superman could be one of the most fun game of all times. Trips through space, other planets, upgrading your powers etc

ProtoCorpse

No! Make him fly through rings and add heavy green kryptonite fog, so you can't see anything

Castle Kingside

That's pretty cruel

IV Milly

@ProtoCorpse I never touched another Superman game.after that bull 💩
