26 Is Dancier Than 4
This Town Needs Guns Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I'm so sorry I'm not down tonight
But all my friends have lost their minds
And whats more…
I'm not happy here anymore.

We should've stayed at home tonight.
All the bright lights and company
Are not what I need.

Its just the same as it was before.
Same faces there to hit the floor.
My legs have carried me far.
There's still strength enough for one more.
So lets carry on
And dance to all the same songs.
Like back when we were young
And nights like this would fade to one.

So lets get out of here.
We've done all we can.
This place is not dead.
So when will this night end?

We'll do it all again,

Next Friday night.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to This Town Needs Guns's song 26 Is Dancier Than 4 convey the sentiment of feeling out of place in a social setting. The singer apologizes for not being "down" or excited for the night, lamenting that their friends have lost their minds, indicating perhaps that they are acting out of character or reckless. The singer states that they are not happy here anymore, suggesting that they have lost interest in or grown tired of this particular environment, despite the bright lights and company surrounding them.

The singer voices their desire to have stayed at home tonight, indicating that they prefer solitude or a quieter setting to the bustling social scene. They express their dissatisfaction with the familiarity of the situation, stating that it is all the same as it was before, with the same people dancing on the floor. However, despite their weariness, they draw upon their inner strength to dance to all the same songs with their friends one more time, reminiscing about nights like this when they were young and carefree.

i don't even know(or care) what music is popular 2day. i listen 2 a tiny bit of music from almost every genre. never dedicate solely 2 1 style or artist. there's a world of great music out there if u search hard enough. if its created with passion, its worth atleast 1 listen.
