Just the two of us.

Ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh
A broken heart is all that′s left
I'm still fixing all the cracks
Lost a couple of pieces when
I carried it, carried it, carried it home
I′m afraid of all I am
My mind feels like a foreign land
Please, carry me, carry me, carry me home
I've spent all of the love I saved
We were always a losing game
Small town boy in a big arcade
I got addicted to a losing game
Oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh
All I know, all I know
Loving you is a losing game
How many pennies in the slot?
Giving us up didn't take a lot
I saw the end before it begun
Still I carried it, I carried it, I carried it on
Oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh
All I know, all I know
Loving you is a losing game
Oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh
All I know, all I know
Loving you is a losing games
I don′t need your games, game over
Get me off this rollercoaster
Oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh
All I know, all I know
Loving you is a losing game
Oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh
All I know, all I know
Loving you is a losing game
Ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh
Ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh
The song "Arcade" by Thomas Berge talks about a broken heart and the pain of losing love. The opening lines of "A broken heart is all that's left, I'm still fixing all the cracks" portray the image of a heart shattered into a thousand pieces, with the singer trying to mend the pieces. However, the journey towards healing these wounds is difficult, and the singer is afraid of his own thoughts and emotions. The line "My mind feels like a foreign land, Silence ringing inside my head" suggests that he is in a state of confusion, and even the sound of silence is overwhelming.
The chorus "Loving you is a losing game" conveys the message that the relationship was one-sided and that the singer invested everything they had, but it was futile. They "got addicted to a losing game" where they kept investing in love, but it never benefitted them. The metaphor of a "small town boy in a big arcade" portrays the vulnerability and helplessness of the singer, trying to fight an unattainable love. The lyrics "Giving us up didn't take a lot, I saw the end before it begun" resonates with the idea of knowing a relationship is doomed from the very start, yet we let ourselves go through the pain of it.

Top gedaan!
