Their self-produced CD, ..Inside.., which made the nation listen up for the first time, saw the light of day in 1998. The 2000 units of the first edition sold out within a few weeks. ..Sick.., the opening track of their ..Inside.. album, was featured on a sampler released by the music magazine, VISIONS, in March 1999, constituting another milestone on the thorny path to the top. Following a number of small gigs in sticky clubs and various support shows (for King..s X and Farmer Boys, among others), the quartet were one of the few unsigned groups to play the VISIONS stage at the Bizarre festival in Cologne in summer 1999.
The big breakthrough arrived soon afterwards when SPV/Steamhammer signed the up-and-coming young act. Their self-titled debut album found a renowned producer in Andy Sneap (Machine Head, Stuck Mojo, Skinlab, among others) and arrived at the stores in August 2001. The result was a surprising record which was celebrated by the press, expressing Thorn.Eleven..s emotional diversity in eleven modern and driving rock songs. The video clip to accompany the first single ..Simple Things.. was featured on national TV several times a day. Numerous TV appearances, festivals and tours through Britain with Earthtone9 and through Germany, Austria and Switzerland alongside Thumb followed.
The next album ..A Different View.. succeeds in topping their impressive debut, proving that the long sabbatical during which the band went through an acute song-writing process has definitely been worth its while. The quartet sound even more mature and their songs are even more thought-out and intricately composed, without losing any of their emotional intensity. ..A Different View.. was recorded at the Oral Majority studios in GΓΈteborg, Sweden, with Roberto Laghi (B-Thong, Mustasch, Hardcore Superstar, Eleven Pictures, among others) at the controls. Laghi was instrumental in developing Thorn.Eleven..s talent to the full. This time around, the bass sounds even more powerful and the drums sound even more driving, the guitars more dynamic, the vocals more versatile. There can be no doubt: these guys have put a seductively sparkling gem on the market with their new album, proving again that Thorn.Eleven..s music is definitely pure emotion.
SUMMER
Thorn.Eleven Lyrics

The summer is coming now
We're not, not like you
Your heart is untrue
The answers are ringing out
The pain you create can make a scar
You'll fall apart, you went too far
Now that the summers gone
Your heart is untrue
The endings are raining down
Why do you run away from fears
You'll fall apart, you'll fall for years
Good bye sky, hello destiny
(Now that the summers gone)
The clock is ticking but you cease to recognize
(Well where are you now?)
What this house meant to me
(The endings are raining down)
What does all this mean
(What's next now?)
The trust is gone, lessons learned
It will always be and I'm all done
Crash and crawl away
Crash and crawl away
Now I'm not afraid
Now I'm not afraid
Swallow and forget
Swallow this regret
Crash
A swell of anger in the sea that is
The sea that is my moods
Its hard to move you, its hard to prove to you
(Slow down, slow down)
All that I can do
A heart of stone to match the concrete wings
(Slow down, slow down)
You gave to me that day
And now we've gone our separate ways
(Slow down, slow down)
Good bye sky, hello destiny
(Now that the summers gone)
The clock is ticking but you cease to recognize
(Well where are you now?)
What this house meant to me
(The endings are raining down)
What does all this mean
(What's next now?)
The song "Summer" by Thorn.Eleven explores themes of heartbreak, betrayal, and coming to terms with the end of a relationship. The opening lines of the song paint a clear picture of the singer's frustration with the person they are addressing in the lyrics. The repetition of "We're not, not like you" emphasizes the disconnect they feel from their former partner. The line "Your heart is untrue" implies that the other person has been unfaithful, causing the singer pain and leaving them with scars.
As the song progresses, the singer reflects on the passing of time and the end of summer, which could be interpreted as a metaphor for the end of the relationship. The line "The endings are raining down" suggests that there are multiple things coming to an end, not just the season. The repeated question "What does all this mean?" implies that the singer is struggling to come to terms with the situation.
The chorus brings a sense of finality, with the lyrics "The trust is gone, lessons learned/ It will always be and I'm all done." The imagery of crashing and crawling away adds to the overall feeling of defeat and acceptance.
Overall, "Summer" is a song that captures the pain and confusion that often accompany the end of a relationship. The lyrics are raw and emotional, and the music adds to the intensity of the message.
