From there, the band would continue to rise in the charts. In 2007, they released their fifth full-length, The Flame in All of Us, which was produced by Ken Andrews (Beck, Chris Cornell, Pete Yorn). Arriving in 2009, the aggressive Welcome to the Masquerade, which would be the band's last release with Tooth & Nail, entered the Billboard Top 200 at number 35, peaking at number two on the Christian rock chart. It was their most successful album to date and would spawn the band's first live album, Live at the Masquerade. The group's next studio album, The End Is Where We Begin, was issued in 2012. It was their first album released entirely independently. Continuing the upward chart trajectory with each subsequent release, The End debuted at number 14 on the Billboard 200, and claimed the top spots on both the hard rock and Christian charts. In late 2013, the band released Made in Canada: The 1998-2010 Collection, which included two new tracks. Thousand Foot Krutch remained independent into 2014, relying on crowd-sourcing for the release of the energetic Oxygen: Inhale, the first part of a pair of hard rock chart-topping LPs. The heavier Exhale followed in 2016, marking TFK's third consecutive Christian number one.

And I need your eyes to look inside and watch how we collide
One more time around and I don't think I'll be allowed
It's the time to tell you
Take me, make me, break
Watch me get wicked and drop like a hand grenade
Watch me get wicked and drop like a hand grenade
What's up is comin' down
And I hope no one's around when it falls
I find it hard to take, sometimes I feel like I could break
And I hope you hear my prayer tonight
Can you hear my cries?
Take me, make me, break
Watch me get wicked like a hand grenade
Take me, make me, break
Watch me get wicked and drop like a hand grenade
What's up is comin' down
And I hope no one's around when it falls x2
Hey you, tell me what you want me to do
Explode like a hand grenade
Hey man, tell me what you want me to say
I'll drop like a hand grenade
Hey!
Take me, make me, break
Watch me get wicked like a hand grenade
Take me, make me, break
Watch me get wicked and drop like a hand grenade x3
watch me get wicked and drop like hand grenades
The lyrics to Thousand Foot Krutch's song "Hand Grenade" are emotional and intense, expressing a need for a significant other's presence to make the singer feel alive. The opening lyrics "I need your breath to stay alive and make me feel this way, and I need your eyes to look inside and watch how we collide" convey the idea that the singer feels dependent on his partner for his well-being and emotional satisfaction. He wants to be seen and intimately connected with his partner, as he describes their connection as a collision.
As the song progresses, the singer becomes more desperate, expressing his fear of being alone and his sense of impending doom. The lyrics "One more time around and I don't think I'll be allowed, It's the time to tell you" suggest that the singer has some sort of time limit, and he needs to express his feelings before it's too late. The repeated refrain of "Take me, make me, break, Watch me get wicked and drop like a hand grenade" conveys a sense of reckless abandon and surrender, as he gives himself over to his partner and the uncertain future.
In the end, the singer hopes that his partner will hear his prayers and understand his cries for connection. The lyrics "I find it hard to take, sometimes I feel like I could break, And I hope you hear my prayer tonight, Can you hear my cries?" express his vulnerability and the deep emotional need he feels towards his partner. The song as a whole is an intense expression of love, fear, and vulnerability.
